The food is good and the place is nice, but I do a 1star review for you to know:
CAREFUL. IT IS NOT 100% VEGAN.
Vegan people always have to fight to be able to eat 100% plant based. So a vegan place should be a place of tranquility, where there is no need to ask about ingredients or look at labels. In this place they brought us dessert, some pancakes. When we ate it we notice a strange taste. The topping was honey, the waiter told us that it is vegan because people eat it and no one says anything. Then he brought us another one with jam. While my partner was eating it I saw the ingredients and... Ponceau 4R...Cochineal. I told the waiter and again he told me that it was vegan because strawberries are a fruit. I told him it contained Ponceau 4R and he told me he didn't know. So these things can happen when you go to places where no one is vegan and they only do it for the money. They made us pay for dessert. They didnt even know...
Read moreMixed feelings about this place. I'd love to give 5 stars, because they might deserve it in the future and I always love a fully vegan restaurant. But there are some problems The menu is great, enough and versatile choices. But some dishes just lack perfection. The falafel plate is very dry. No sauce for the salad, and what's supposed to be hummus isn't hummus. I think they leave out the tahin, or just have a bad receipt. The falafel themselves are okay, but could be a lot better. Just look into that closer, I'd suggest. The sandwiches are very tasty but they don't look like that at all. I had a watermelon juice and it had no taste at all. The pizza is quite good, though a bit expensive for the small size. I think this place can be really good, but there is some work left in terms of presentation of the food and...
Read moreUnfortunately myself and my partner got severe food poisoning after a week of eating here 2 to 3 times a day. It was the only place we ate in Cat Ba as we read the reviews and thought it was our safest option. We are now hesitant to believe all the positive reviews. We didn't eat breakfast in our hotel or anywhere else. The food poisoning was so severe I passed out in the airport and required immediate medical treatment and very strong antibiotics.
Can't pinpoint which dish as we shared dishes each day. It took nearly two weeks to recover.
*Update after reading owners first response saying we had no proof we ate there *
Proof that we ate here in photos attached and as a side note it is possible to get food poisoning from Vegan Food as it is...
