This is NOT the Little Leaf that has so many glowing reviews. And if it is then it has undergone some truly terrible changes to atmosphere, service, and food quality. Service was EXTREMELY SLOW, food was mediocre, and there was crazy disorganization going on in the front and back of house staff.
After reading other reviews, my group of 3 people decided to get dinner here. Big mistake. Most of the reviews are from 2+ years ago, and judging from the pictures and menu items, they are for an entirely different restaurant.
To start, there are no cocktails at this restaurant, beer only. All of the reviewers raving about cocktails have not been here any time recently. Fine, beer it is.
The food was....fine? Nothing was good. The vietnamese spring rolls were the best thing, mostly thanks to the peanut sauce. Pork skewers were really pork sausage and mostly flavorless, cashew chicken was doused in sauce but lacked enough actual seasoning, and the grilled fish was a total skip.
Besides the food quality, the worst part was the time for service.
It took 45 minutes to receive our appetizer, and 2 hours to receive our 3 entrees. We witnessed the same phenomenon happen to every table around us. As each plate came out, the server presented it to every table in the restaurant until he found the match. They started turning people away because they couldn't keep up in the kitchen. I wish they had turned us away and saved us the pain and suffering.
About halfway through our 2 hour wait, we ordered coffees, hoping to stay awake long enough to finally eat. We were warned it may take 15 minutes, and we agreed. In the end it took 30 minutes for them to come out. Still before the entrees though.
Then 2 entrees came out before the last. After 15 minutes with two people having finished their meal, we asked about the 3rd entree which had clearly been forgotten. Another 10-15 minutes for that meal to come out.
Then after asking for the bill, it was another 15 minute ordeal as the whole staff conferred with one another about what we had ordered. Amazingly they got THAT part correct (of course).
We paid, gtfo, and hurried to find a different place to grab a drink and snack after our long ordeal.
Again, I would caution anyone reading prior reviews to check the timestamps. Clearly covid greatly affected this place, and it is really not deserving of it's high reviews based on it's...
Read moreWe stumbled upon The Little Leaf Restaurant on our first night, initially just stopping by for their coconut ice cream. The dessert was refreshing and delicious, but what really stood out was the warm and friendly service—it made such a good impression that we decided to return the next day for lunch.
For our meal, we ordered the grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce and the chicken burger. The burger was a highlight: juicy, flavorful, and made even better with a unique Vietnamese sauce that added a tasty twist. The grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce was exactly as expected—well-cooked, savory, and satisfying. Both dishes came with a generous portion of fries, which were crisp and well-seasoned.
The only minor downside was the salad, which was a bit heavy on the dressing. Still, the overall dining experience was very pleasant. The staff remained consistently polite, helpful, and attentive, which made our return visit feel just as welcoming as the first.
Definitely a charming little spot...
Read moreProbably a good place to stop for a beer, but a bad restaurant, with lots of waiting and mediocre service.
We ordered our food (after waiting for a long time), then 15 minutes later the waitress told us they were out of large pizzas and only had medium (which is basically like saying they use pre-made frozen crusts), so my friend changed his order to a burger. Then 45 minutes after ordering they told me that they didn’t have the soup I ordered, so I had to pick something else as well. Maybe an hour after ordering my friends got their burgers, and then another 30 minutes later (1,5 hours after ordering) after my friends were done eating I finally got my food. The food itself was actually quite good (We tried the bacon burger, the LBG burger and the terriaky chicken). When we asked for the check we were charged for the soup they didn’t have (in addition to what we actually ate) and a beer too much as well, but they fixed it when we...
