Cat Ba Oasis Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Hải Phòng

Had a great time here until closing and I got on one of the random Grab driver's scooters who had all gathered outside to try and pick up rides. He drove around the corner, knocked me off his bike, and stole my phone and wallet!

Bar staff looked at CCTV, but their cameras don't show the street so no one could be identified and they refused to help me contact the police to make a report......

That is the second time you have victim blamed me for drinking at your establishment which is a BAR/MINI NIGHTCLUB after your restaurant closes. It doesn't matter that I was inebriated, it does not give someone the right to physically assault and rob me.

I did not blame you or your establishment, I stated facts that CCTV does not cover the street and you would not even direct me to a police station so I could make a report nor call them for me. I came back in the morning with my hotel concierge, in the afternoon to check CCTV when the manager got in and in the evening to see if perhaps anyone turned any of my stuff in and the Grab driver was mentioned.

Letting other travelers know this happened is more important than your Google ratings, which are doing just fine. They need to know not to get on random Grab driver scooters outside of bars since no one/the blind spot CCTV will be able...

I understand that things might get busy on Christmas eve but I am not satisfied with the manager that night who dismissed my ask for an item on Christmas menu. Maybe the restaurant target audience is not for Vietnamese??? 🤔

On another note, my friend and I ordered beers and they took forever to deliver. At least 15-20 minutes went by without anything on the table. I mean how hard is it to pour a few glasses of beer. My friend had to ask for one more time to get the beer on our table.

I think this reflects very poorly on how restaurant staffs and the restaurant as a whole treat local Vietnamese. I beg everyone who plans to visit this restaurant to consider whether the restaurant's philosophy/view resonates with yours. Do you want to spend your money on an establishmnent with this mentality???

On a side note, we attached the toilet condition and pizza with a fly topping.

Overall, I will not visit this restaurant again ever. Even if the food and drink is good price, it's not worth going here to be humilated and get terrible service for sharing the same race as the staff and maybe the owner.

To the restaurant owner, please take a look at how your staffs treat...

Had a pretty scary experience which will leave a bad memory for me for Vietnam. I was having a good time in the bar with my friends on 30th June. There was one staff who claimed to be leader was pretty drunk, all of a sudden came towards me and said ur laughing at me and swung his hand at me and hit me on my head. We very pretty pissed and left the place. I have travelled to so many countries never faced any situations like this. Felt pretty bad and upset about the whole situation. (Edit):Reply thanks for your kind your response. However I am not keen on deleting the review. I was under the impression he was staff since he was getting drinks on the house and he introduced himself as leader but I might have not heard he is tour leader.. However there was no action taken for unruly behaviour of the tour leader. We had to leave the place. He should have been kicked out. I think it should be responsibility of bar to take the ownership. Also not sure if such incidents happen in future with same tour leader what steps will taken...
