We recently dined at this restaurant and tried three dishes: honey sesame chicken with rice, pork with noodles, and chicken Pad Thai. Unfortunately, our experience with the food was quite disappointing.
The honey sesame chicken with rice was particularly underwhelming. The dish came with a soup that tasted like warm sugar water, yellow in color, and devoid of any spices, herbs, or seasoning. It lacked the depth and complexity one would expect from such a dish.
The pork with rice noodles had a nice taste, but there was an unpleasant smell that lingered, similar to the smell of uncooked chicken or eggs. This off-putting aroma was present in all the dishes, making it difficult to enjoy the meal fully.
The chicken Pad Thai was below average, lacking the seasoning and flavor that typically make this dish a favorite. It was bland and did not meet our expectations.
On a positive note, the waitstaff were extremely polite and friendly. They greeted us warmly and provided excellent service throughout our visit. Additionally, the prices of the dishes were very affordable, which was a plus.
Overall, while the service and pricing were commendable, the quality of the food left much to be desired. We hope the restaurant can improve its recipes and address the issues with the food.

Read moreThe name itself ("yummy") is not enough for the food itself. EVERYTHING that these lovely people cook and sell it's just DELICIOUS. We had a little walk one evening and discovered this amazing place. Ever since we went to eat there twice a day. The food was delicious. Every single thing we've tried there, we've enjoyed. The little dog was incredibly cute and playful. In our last morning, we had chicken and sweetcorn fried rice (for just 50.000 VND- aprox 2.5 USD) for take away. These lovely people gave us 1 bottle of water and thanked us for coming and eating there every day. We were tearful and speechless. It's the most tasteful restaurant in Vietnam. THANK YOU!
Pictures menu: -mixed glass noodles (with chicken and nuts) -pumpkin soup (with coconut cream- you can choose to have it served with bread or rice) -chicken and sweetcorn egg fried rice -shrimp with passion fruit sauce and boiled rice P.S: we took your food at 1.000 m (Ngu Lam) in the last picture: chicken+ sweetcorn+...
Read moreThis review accounts for Yummy 1 and Yummy 2.
Went to Yummy 1 on the recommendation from a Cát Bà travel blog post as well as due to the close proximity to our hostel. We dined twice at Yummy 1 and once at Yummy 2 during our two days on the island. Food is some of the cheapest you can get on the island (aside from hawker stalls on the roadside) ranging in price from 30k pho to 80k grilled fish with a rice noodle and sauce side. My husband and I ate a different dish every time we went and each time the food was hot and absolutely fantastic. Their coconut coffee was some of the best coffee I've had in Viet Nam: perfectly sweet and coconut-y with enough caffeine to fuel your day. I do not believe this is a locals spot as you will see many Westerner faces at the tables, but the value you get for fairly large portions and yummy food is 100%...
