Jasmine An Bàng — Restaurant in Hội An

Love everything about this place but especially the hospitality. Everyone on staff is friendly and attentive. This place has free: parking, sunbeds, showers, and wifi.

We got to Hoi An a few days ago and beelined to the beach. We paid for parking [not knowing Jasmine offers free parking and has their own parking lot]. Our youngest fell asleep on the ride over so we paid for a sunbed so she could sleep [again didn’t know about Jasmine]. We learned about Jasmine while playing along the beach. We’ve gone their twice now and bet we’ll be back during our stay.

We have two kids and there are sand toys to play with and boards available for rent. The staff have been playful and kind towards the kids. The kitchen is also able to make sure the dishes we order aren’t spicy.

Unfortunately I have to give this place 3 stars. They were not set for card payment, but no one said anything to us about this when we entered.

I only carry a small amount of money with me because I have been able to use my card every where so far. This restaurant looked like it was established for a while so I assumed we’d be okay. I already spent most of my VND dollars on cocktails and other things prior to finding this restaurant.

At the end I was told “no card”. It was night time, and therefore dark. I was told I had to walk 5 mins to the nearest atm, which I was uncomfortable with because I knew I’d get charged extra fees.

Of course I was charged $10 AUD just to withdraw money.

I then had to walk back to the restaurant to pay. It was really unacceptable that we were put in that position.

We had the lunch at one of the best restaurants in An Bang today! Right on the beach, we chose to eat at a comfy sofa overlooking the sand, although they have great loungers and umbrellas where you can eat right on the beach, too. Atmosphere was great, and every single staff member was so helpful, friendly and efficient.

And the food! We had steamed squid with ginger fish sauce that was incredible - some of the best squid we’ve had, especially because the squids were cooked whole. Flavorful, tender and delicious. We also had grilled prawns with cheese that again were perfectly cooked (it’s very easy for these to quickly overcook). Drinks were tasty - especially the whole coconut which we had split after I finished it, so that we were then able to eat the meaty insides. So good!
