Wow. Such a statement of Vietnamese food and hospitality! I am living locally and read about this restaurant on google. Pictures showed a vibrant little family owned restaurant with lots of happy faces. Well, now in covid normal, I was the only customer! But it mattered not to my host ..the lovely Na and family members. Na spoke a little English and I spoke a little Vietnamese so everything was good. It was a limited menu of family cooked local dishes and they all sounded great. I went with the Hoi An Cao Lau dish (Brown Noodle with Pork and Greens) a very famous dish only found in Hoi An. It was delicious! And then a bowl of Pho Bo .. A bowl of beef phở consists of soft slippery noodles in a hearty, beefy yet fragrant broth and beef slices of your choice. This dish is the most famous Vietnamese noodle soup without any doubts. And this was the taste of true Vietnamese family cooking prowess. Unexpectedly, my host placed a plate of fresh cut mangos on the table to finish my meal. The mangos she explained were straight from her garden tree across the road and complimentary. Couldn't have been more fresh or more tasty. It was such a pleasure to visit and eat at this restaurant. As I was the only guest we did talk a little bit about the covid crisis and where I was from etc. And as custom would have it I met the whole family! I am getting used to the typical questions and interest shown by the locals! Overall a wonderful experience and I recommend this small restaurant. The staff and food were...
Read moreComing back to Hoi An, there are always new places to explore but first we do our favourites. Little Flower is always at the top. Great food, cold drinks, beautiful family & a terrific atmosphere just outside of Ancient Town.
The menu is full of Vietnamese classics with a few Western dishes for those feeling like something different. All ingredients are locally sourced & super fresh & dishes are prepared with love & great attention to detail.
My favourite is the deliciously refreshing banana flower salad with pork & prawns & loads of nuts. It’s definitely a main meal salad & great to share. It goes particularly well with the lemon pork!
Even though the food is wonderful (& the drinks are cold!), it’s the beautiful staff that make it a standout - friendly, helpful & always on hand to offer advice if needed.
It’s a charming, family-run establishment & the perfect spot to relax after a busy day shopping...
Read moreWe ate at the Little Flower restaurant last night and it was absolutely fantastic. We are staying in a hotel not far from the old quarter and decided to give the Little Flower a go. It is a bit out of the way in terms on the old quarter but it was definitely worth the journey. As soon as we arrived were greeted by a lovely lady who was able to communicate in English with us. Very friendly and explained the menu. We ordered a couple of dishes white rose and cao lau. Both tasted amazing so we ordered some more food which was also great. The service was also fantastic. Although the Little Flower is slightly out of the old quarter i would highly recommend this restaurant. The cost of the food is outrageously cheap but for anyone who has travelled to Vietnam before, this kind of comes to be expected. However, the food is that good you just cannot comprehend how much value you get...
