Where do I even start. We arrived to the Boat one evening by chance walking along the beautiful river and it was the second night of this restaurants existence. The owner, who was also the head chef, greeted us with open arms and attended to our table as if we were royalty. He gave his best recommendations and they did not disappoint. I had the fillet steak, and it’s safe to say it satisfied my needs. I had been suffering from an aggresive hangover, and the overall experience gave me a new lease of life. Although dining with 3 of my pals, it was quite romantic and special. I’m sure the missus won’t be too impressed to hear that! Of course, being nothing short of the best meal I have ever had, we returned a couple of nights later. The owner was elated to see our, once again hungover and tired faces, and dapped me up like we had known each other for years. This time we had the crispy squid and spring rolls to start, which were beautiful and served seperately, one directly after the next. I then ordered the grilled duck for my main, and zoo wee mama, I was once again left with nothing but joy. The service from the owner and his staff was once again without fail. His gratitude for the tip we left which was more than well earned will not be forgotten, as we all joined together for a nice photograph. This was not even the best part. I happen to suffer from anaphylaxis and have severe food allergies which can be fatal, hence why I carry an epipen and the necessary medication. After walking away from the restaurant, honestly quite upset knowing I may not ever get the chance to return, we were approached by two men on a moped, but to our surprise it was the lovely owner and one of his accomplices. He revealed a black bag to us, and I realised it was my personal belongings, including my wallet, camera and medication. He literally drover around Hoi An looking for me to return my bag, so I guess technically this man may have saved my life. I am eternally grateful for his heroic actions and the exquisite dining experience he provided myself and my friends with. If I asked his name I would probably give the same name to my first born in his honour. In all honesty, it was an incredible dining experience and I could not recommend this restaurant more to anyone who is in Hoi An. Thank you again to the owner, I cannot express my gratitude for his...

We had the absolute best experience at The Boat Riverside Restaurant & Bar. From the moment we arrived to the second we left, we were treated with the kindest, warmest service. The owner helped us with the biggest smile on his face and made sure we had everything we needed. He was so friendly, chatted with us throughout our meal, and even walked us out all the way to our Grab. Such genuine hospitality!
Now let’s talk food—10/10 across the board. We ordered the cheeseburger, sweet and sour chicken, and lemongrass chicken. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. We also had a couple of Saigon beers and a few juice drinks, which were refreshing and delicious.
To top it all off, the view was stunning. Sitting by the riverside with lanterns glowing above made it all feel magical.
Highly recommend if you're looking for great food, beautiful views, and service that makes you feel right at home. Don’t...
