Amazing, authentic, local family restaurant representing the best of Hoi An.
This family used to run this restaurant from the beach for many years but during the past few years of COVID they relocated to this new location on 5 mins in from the beach. It sits in a charming, quiet, peaceful and very local and authentic feeling neighbourhood, full of homestay a and other restaurants, but also just normal local families going about their business, with kids and friendly dogs playing in the street.
The new restaurant is even bigger than the old one but retains the same charm and relaxed friendly atmosphere, mainly as a result of the excellent hosts, the husband and wife and family who run this place so well.
The food is excellent, amazing value, and always fresh. There is a real local home cooked family vibe about the food that is served.
Most of all, is the warmth and familiarity that all past customers receive when they return to this humble yet wonderful establishment. During a week long trip, we visited 3 times and will surely go back the next time we are in the area. I hope many others get to become regular and past customers, and wish Salty Sea every success in their newly...
Read moreWent here because a local recommended this place to us. Food was good and price was okay but some of the portions we're small. The scallops, shrimp, yellow mung bean pancakes, and vegetables dishes (morning glory and something that resembled spinach) were very good. When we ordered crab, it was one small crab. Overall super friendly and very inexpensive for fresh seafood. The fish we ordered you could tell was super fresh. If you go here you can have free parking for your bike or motorbike, and they provide you with a towel and chair by the beach. The beach area is also more secluded compared to the main area.
Apparently all the locals go to the beach at night and this place is a popular local spot hence the lack of reviews on sites such as trip advisors.
Note: all the beach chairs are owned by the restaurants or someone (the people rent it out from the city) which is why they usually require you to buy something (drink or food or they charge you for the chair) with a minimum...
Read moreUpdated: I kept coming back here every time I visit An Bang and the food is consistently good and freshly prepared each time. In my last trip, we took the owner’s phone number so that we could order in advance and avoid the wait! I guess you could also just walk in for pre-order!
The food is so good it is easily among the best meals of our trip!
We ordered grilled fish in banana leaf, fish in claypot with rice, steamed squids, and a side of boiled morning glory. Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. All for 385,000 vnd which comes to around $15 for two which is insane 🤪
Genuine homey local vibe which we loved. The service was great and fast too. We’d definitely come...
