Boomerang Bistro Saigon — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Initial Impressions: Although the decor is a bit on the simplistic side, I am personally a fan of that so didn't mind that at all. The tables are very large and suitable for eating with groups of friends. The one initial negative I noticed was service. We weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait for a server to seat us. Once we sat down, it took a while before a waiter to come and they didn't give us the lunch menu (during lunch hours) until we specifically asked for it.

Food and price: In a country where you can find banh mi for 20,000 VND, the food hear is definitely very expensive in comparison. Their breakfast menu options were 100,000+ and lunch options were 200,000+ with some dishes reaching up to 1,000,000 VND. Although it is a bit expensive, food portions are large and the quality good (not great, good). Their Aussie Burger was enjoyable but not amazing. I heard good things from my family about the English Breakfast, but also complaints about the steak my dad had ordered. Overall, the food gave the impression of being good, but not amazing.

Location: One thing definitely going for the restaurant is the lovely lake outside the Crescent Mall and the greenery. This gives the restaurant a very relaxing feel.

Summary: From food to service, things were average but didn't seem to excite too much. For the price of lunch, what you get is almost not worth it, so going for breakfast seems to be the better option. Good place to hang out with friends, but not a place I...

Second edit: Mistakes can happen and it’s how those mistakes get corrected that is important. Our subsequent visit to Boomerang was much improved over the last one. The pizza (and all our food) was very good. Thanks for reaching out and closing this adventure. We’ll be back.

Very disappointed in Boomerang for a premium restaurant. When ordering off a menu item with a picture you expect the food to somewhat resemble the picture in quality and appearance. The Boomerang Deluxe (1 picture) was not close to what was delivered to our table (2 picture) 4 pieces of pepperoni? Really? After politely complaining to the manager, no adjustment or consideration for this poor excuse of a pizza. We’ve only been a couple times over the past couple years as Midtown has excellent options but sadly, never again...

Very nice setting, opposite to the water body, cool breeze. The menu was quite elaborate, had liquor a very welcome sight for me, you don't get liquor everywhere, wine and beer iz the way to go. We ordered the beef steak, and for the first time in Ho Chi Minh it came in a food trolley lien on a very hot stone, I asked them to cook it for me, which they did, wasn't great, okay-ish, but the presentation was nice 😀, the French fries were not very crunchy, ordered 2 pasta dishes, they were nice not over cooked cheese was balanced well, meat sauce was cooked well no smell of raw tomato, and was cooked now store bought one....
