Chả Cá Hà Nội Phố — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Came here to try the cha ca, having only ever eaten at Cha Ca La Vong on Nguyễn van Linh, thus the bar is set quite high and expectations were measured. Went away feeling quite satisfied; although there were a few things that could be improved, eg fire could have been hotter, fish could’ve been sizzling when brought to the table and more dill in the mix (could barely taste any). The portion of fish was plentiful (pictured: cha ca for 2 pax) and meaty. Big plate of bun, bountiful basket of crackers, clean and cosy environment, prompt service and reasonable pricing. Besides offering the dish of the same name, Cha Ca Ha Noi, this restaurant also surprises for nice selection of fish noodle or Cha Ca Pho.

Being from the north, they also offer my one of my favorites from that region, slightly crispy beef fried rice with pickled cabbage.

And you know this is authentic because the rice has slight crispiness to it as only true Hanoi version tend...
