Mekong Merchant Saigon — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

We had a horrible experience here. Came here for Sunday brunch and our server Tan didn’t even give us the brunch menu. The food was delicious but Tan was ignoring us the entire time. We cut him some slack because it was busy, but when the restaurant cleared out, he still didn’t give us the time of the day. And when he took our order, he brought zero notepad with him, and surprise, he forgot our third entree - the pancakes! He didn’t even acknowledge it and apologize, he said it was gonna take 10 minutes, but when we inquired further, he said “it’s not in the kitchen, I missed the order”, WITH ZERO APOLOGY. He acted like we were being a hassle for asking for what we ordered and side eyed us....

The service has gone down hill..I have eaten here for 3.5 years last three times has been not great..today I came for lunch i ordered cappuccino and orange juice..the waitress reply double shot and lime juice...so I repeat again...2 min later she ask me again?..I then was served by another waitress...we ordered pizza and seafood pasta ...1 hour later no food..we asked where is our lunch the waitress say its coming in 5 mins..15 min no food!..but in Vietnamese they say they forgot thinking we dont understand!....this place is supposed to be good service!. .anyway we left hungry....sad because I spent alot of money here before and its was a favourite place...all good things come to an...

I do like the restaurant and staff and overall food. However, I really hope that management would often check the “playground” for kids. there are many broken wood toy pieces that are dangerous for babies/toddler. Please toss them out or get rid of it all together. Honestly for a place that is quiet successful like this, i thought they would know how to utilize space and remodel this so its enjoyable for kids and parents. This is a kid friendly restaurant but they allowed guest to smoke freely. I was shocked that no one said anything to the smoker and there were at least 5-6...
