We arrived at 8.45 and immediately rushed as they closed at 10pm… the menu was like a novel!!! The waitress wasn’t pleasant at all we felt like we we’re constantly offending her each time we asked a question, she wouldn’t let us hold onto a menu to have a look in case we wanted to order more, she said they were too busy, even though there were only 6 other people inside and 2 couples outside … We asked if we could have our food one course at a time. The first course arrived, the squid stuffed with pork, it was ice cold in the middle and the squid was so chewy I couldn’t put my knife and certainly not my teeth through it. We sent it back and the same piece came back with less on the plate, it was hot but all messy and thrown back on the plate….it also had a sawdust texture to the batter. All In all gross!!! We returned it and didn’t eat anymore of this … The green curry, the pork, the rice and all other dishes arrived 2 minutes later altogether. The curry was very bitter and all Of the vegetables were rock hard. The rice was overcooked but very very sweet. The pork was again not fully warmed through …all in all not one dish was edible. We were then charged full price for the squid, and they wouldn’t remove from the bill. They argued and argued and argued!! Until our taxi arrived … This is as good as theft, trying to charge us for something inedible … The wine was nice and the place is pretty but thats truly about it!… maybe go for a...
Read moreI normally don't review a place unless I truly thought it was phenomenal. And in this case, I was very impressed as I stepped foot into the restaurant. You are welcomed by the very chic setting, a beautiful combination of old and modern day Saigon. While sincerely welcomed by all the staff.
As a vegetarian, I was surprised and delighted to see the amount of delicious and mouth-watering options available on the menu. The edamame tofu salad was to die for and I would highly recommend it, whether you're vegetarian or not.
From the six course meal we had, the entire cuisine were fresh and refreshing. The mix of Vietnamese and Western cuisine gave a home-made feeling, using the best quality ingredients. The restaurant also offered a variety of drinks. We ordered a number bottle of wines and the servers always made sure our glasses was never empty. The owner was full of warmth and thoughtful for all our guests. Great hospitality and many laughs. He made the experience one that I will not forget!
Because of the brilliant atmosphere and delicious food to accommodate both the veg and non-veg eaters, I have no hesitation on highly recommending going to Laang Restaurant with friends, families or a special night out.
Thank you for the...
Read moreExcellent experience at Laang today! The service was fast, attentive and friendly. The food quality was exceptional. We ordered the bun bo hue which had high quality beef, but a more mild taste in comparison to other local restaurants. We also ordered the mango salad with sea bass which was by far the star of the meal. The sea bass was cooked to perfection and the mango salad was juicy and flavorful. It also came with prawn crackers that complimented the juicyness of the salad well. For the other main, we ordered the banh mi "dep chay" which is a vegetarian mushroom sandwich. It was well cooked and had an amazing sauce on it. The bread was high quality baguette as well. The only thing I didn't like we're the french fries. I felt they were bland and lacked crispiness and seasoning. Finally we ordered the "bo la lot chien" which is beef wrapped in betel leaf then fried. It was tasty but different from what I was expecting having had bo la lot as street food before. All in all if you're looking for high quality, modern Vietnamese cuisine in a relaxed setting, come to Laang. You won't be disappointed. Also it is pet friendly, so you can...
