Don't bring a date there. I cannot understand the reviews. Big suspicion of seeding (generating by their own ways the high reviews). I can cook way better at home. It was painful to eat such a failure and I was embarrassed I brought my date there, who didn't seem to appreciate her food either. We both let half of it. It was way too salty and the cheese was so cheap in taste. It was dry. I got the basil and she got the carbonara.
It is ultra expensive for Vn (~200 to 360 / person for simple pastas). You pay for pastas and sauce SEPARATELY 😂. Never saw such a ridiculously thing in my life before in an Italian restaurant. I felt heavily ripped off. They only warn you with 1 line on the top of 1 page. Confusing clients like this sucks. I tried to argue that a little bit with the waiter but of course, the problem is the client, not the menu.
Tables are too long for dates. Difficult to hear each others.
Just 1 or 2 ceiling fan for a big terrasse. It was a bit suffocating. No external cooler nor extra fan. For this price, you expect at least comfort.
I don't recommend. Moreover, the staff never came to check if the food was to our liking. They just serve...
Read moreWonderful open air Italian locale in the heart of Thao Dien Ward, D2, started up and run by 2 Italians. Home made pasta, delicious selection of toppings, a few other dishes, and great shortlist of desserts. And, to wash it all down, a few, appropriately selected Italian wines.
August 26, 2018 - addendum. Just read Greg Norris's review from a year ago. He must be either confusing Pasta Fresca with another establishment or hallucinating! The locale is set al fresco in a small eco park, nowhere near the noisy main road he depicts, and devoid of the smelly ditch, trucks, cars and motorcycles whose fumes he wrongly portays. And there are more than 4 tables, with wooden benches, not plastic chairs! Smoking is permitted given that the setting is completely open air, but I have never noticed anyone doing so, and even if the occasional patron were to light up, the smoke would quickly dissipate up into the open air. Mr. Norris is at least right in one important culinary respect: the pasta is no doubt the best to be found outside Italy, so don't miss going there if you are in the neighborhood and forget all the other falsehoods he...
Read morePasta Fresca Thảo Điền is a fantastic Italian restaurant situated in an alley that has a small cluster of eateries opposite Katinat Cafe in the heart of Thao Dien. This well-established spot is highly regarded by fans of Italian cuisine, and for good reason.
The cozy outdoor dining environment sets the perfect ambiance for a relaxed meal. The menu offers a good range of authentic Italian dishes, with a specialty in handmade, fresh pasta that is simply delightful. The pizzas are also excellent; I particularly enjoyed the Mortadella and Pistachio Pizza, which features a mozzarella base, mortadella, pistachio, balsamic reduction, and fresh basil. It was a delightful combination of flavors.
On a recent Tuesday evening, I took advantage of a nice 50% off pizza dining offer and was impressed with the fast, friendly customer service. The availability of WiFi and the acceptance of credit cards and Apple Pay add to the convenience.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for good Italian food with a...
