I had take-out and drove 35 mins before eating. I'm guessing the burger would have been better had I dined in, but it was still pretty good.
The patties for the double weren't as juicy as I'd like (again, I didn't eat it right away). And (I can't confirm, but) there may have been some jam spread on the bottom bun (something I've had in Korea that I don't like) - it tasted sweet/didn't taste like ketchup. That would be my only real problem, if I'm correct. The size was good, and it was still a quality burger; 220K ($8.65).
I still think Mad Roosta for size and Shogun for taste. This is a little more fancy than Boss, but similar quality.
The chicken sandwich was a surprise. The chicken was sliced (as if put into a salad); not a thick hearty crispy chicken filet, but still tasted good - 130K/$5.10
The Breakfast Hot Dog (I was thinking it was going to be a breakfast sausage or bacon, eggs, and cheese - it tasted nothing like that... more just a regular hotdog with some standard toppings on it - 130K.
The Salchipapa fries were good, I wish it was topped with cheese - 69K/$2.70.
The staff was very friendly, spoke English. Considering my order, it was made relatively quickly. They gave a free ice cream - if the one they gave me is the regular one, it's a little small, but it's good and tasted homemade.
There is a Friday promotion...
Read moreI can relate to Selba's review. Came because of the high review score, but can't say I was blown away. At around 200k a burger, I had expected a higher standard.
As Selba mentioned, they don't ask you how you want your patty cooked. The reply of the owner/mananger was that they always cooked them medium/well, as they claim that is what most people want. This may (or may not) be true, but I suggest asking nonetheless, as everyone has a different preference. Expecting the customer to indicate this, isn't a very proactive approach.
The Pingu Burger was okay, but I found the bbq sauce that came with it to give the burger a peculiar sweet taste that I personally didn't enjoy.
I ordered a portion of french fries with herbs, but got them without the herbs. I didn't want to complain, because the friendly waitress' English wasn't great, and my Vietnamese even worse. They had a good variety of sauces available to eat them with, which was nice. Unfortunately, the fries were soft and tasteless by themselves.
I would also suggest putting french fries with every burger, as it is kind of a standard combination. Or perhaps offer combos of burgers & fries (& a drink), or something....
Read morePingu Burger is hands down one of the best burger joints in town! From their mouth-watering burgers to their crispy fries and delightful burritos, every item on the menu is a culinary masterpiece. The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way they should be. And don't even get me started on their burritos—they are a burst of flavors wrapped in a soft, warm tortilla.
