The Tavern PMH — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Great food. We had the chicken Kiev and the Beef Rouladen. The chicken dish was very good, I asked for hand cut fried which were yummy. The chicken is fried with a lovely crispy coating. The gravy is awesome! I found the beef over cooked and to chewy for my liking. The red cabbage is delicious and so are the mashed potatoes. Again, gravy is awesome. We also ordered garlic fried mushrooms, they were just ok. The mushrooms are tiny tiny and they don’t give you enough for the price. Either have huge mushrooms so you can taste them, or put double the amount of tiny mushrooms as a portion. The garlic sauce is very garlicky and good. Espresso was ok- not the best in town but that’s ok. The atmosphere is ok, it’s a bar first, it’s loud ( music so loud we couldn’t really talk at lunch- which sucked) they did turn it down a bit for us which is nice but not down enough. The pool tables are right beside the dinning area, so very loud when someone is playing. It would be cool to have a separate area for dinning and then a bar area for loud drunk people and watch games. Service was very good, friendly. They ask for tips here ( written on the menu) there’s no service charge on the receipt, so that’s ok. Prices are decent, except for some items are way to high. Seating is uncomfortable. Not good for people with disabilities or any kind of pain issues. Seats are hard and mostly tall stools. And it’s not the cleanest place- but it’s a bar. Just my opinion - give them a try,...

Just been to the Tavern ( so called sports bar) asked the guy behind the counter could he put on the Scottish football ( Rangers and Celtic) and all I got out of him was a moaning and a dirty look. Needless to say , I drank up my drink, paid my bill and left. Never to return to the Tavern again. Iv been going there on and off for over 4 years now and it’s the first time I ever asked to watch a football game. Iv never met a barman to be as rude. Seems he been there so long now that he’s got to comfortable and thinks he owns the place. I remember him when he was smiley and happy. Now he’s just an ignorant man that has just lost 1 costumer and whatever friends I would have brought to there. Other than that, all of the other staff are very pleasant and nice. But if you have a miserable moody barman behind the counter, you are better off drinking or eating somewhere else because this guy’s...

This place has truly been a rollercoaster over the years. It started off great, then went downhill, made a brief comeback, and now it's back to its lowest point. Unfortunately, the current experience leaves a lot to be desired. Warm beers are being served, which is an instant dealbreaker for any decent establishment. The lack of customers speaks volumes about the current state of affairs. To make matters worse, it took a frustrating 45 minutes to receive the food—and when it finally arrived, it was just barely edible.
