Làng Ngon - Vietnamese Cuisine and Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Nha Trang City

The crusine here is quite expensive but the quality is less than a normal noodle on the street in Nha Trang.

We came here because some “tourism guide”recommended us.

The environment looks okay and that’s the only upside.

The food is NOT worth at all. We arrived at 8pm, more than half of the dishes were not available. No one here understood English. The food is the worst we ever had during the one week in Nha Trang.

We ordered a beef pho which is recommended by the waiter because all the other dishes we wanted to order were not available. The beef is not eatable and it tastes like it was cooked of the remaining food previous guests had during the day, as hard as stone.

We ordered a fried ribs which took 45min to finish, and it does not look like on the menu at all, gamey, fishy smell, with light color which indicates it was definitely not well cooked with sugar and spices it should have like how it looks like on the menu.

We ordered fried spring roll, it doesn’t taste like Vietnamese spring roll as normal spring roll here on the street taste much better. The fried oil soak the spring roll inside out, and it tastes like eating oil, I bearly felt any other material inside the roll.

The attitude of the manager with the black frame glasses looks quite impatient in the beginning, as we can tell the folks want to bounce off the work at 9pm, but then you should just tell us the kitchen is closed if you cannot offer a fair quality dish with such high price here in Nha Trang. He started to get a little bit of patience only after we told him we were so disappointed. He just said sorry and said we didn’t get the taste of the cuisine. And we just go.

We do NOT recommend this restaurant to any tourists here as it does not represent a good Vietnamese cuisine like its name advertised.

As you approach the restaurant and step through the front gate, you immediately feel like you've been transported to the past. This restaurant has been lovingly preserved and tastefully decorated to highlight its beautiful traditional architecture. The ambience is just right and everyone in our family spent 20 minutes looking around and taking photos. My wife's family is from China and I was tasked with ordering as many traditional Vietnamese dishes and across as many regions as possible. We didn't cheap out and ordered some of the more expensive dishes, like the crispy suckling pig, as it was a good chance for them to try regional specialties. The service was really great, we were looked after very well by the girls and all details were taken care of. They even told us to cut back on some similar dishes and knock another off as they thought it was too much for our group of 6. All the dishes were fine very well, we had no less than 5 different sauces to accompany almost each dish. It really was fantastic attention to detail from the kitchen staff. All the dishes not only looked great, but they also tasted great. We ordered a huge amount but it was finished in the end. So I think it was a huge success and a lovely introduction to the variety of Vietnamese food available through each region. It's only a short taxi from the town centre or walkable if you're not in a hurry. We have a 2 year old so we took a taxi. You can easily spend 2-3 hours here, it's so calm and tranquil that you could forget that you're in the city...
