Ngoc Trai Seafood Restaurant - Since 2004 — Restaurant in Nha Trang City

Ngoc Trai is a large seafood restaurant that’s good for families and large groups. There are tanks of live seafood from fish to various shellfish. We wanted the sweet snails but they were out of stock. They had also run out of clams and mantis prawns. So as you can see, we were a little disappointed by what they actually had available vs what the menu said. The best thing we had was the geoduck clams. These were the small variety and drilled with toppings. Very tender and tasty. The wild caught grouper fish was a tasteless disappointment. All the other dishes we had were above average to good. Service was good when we spoke to one of the captains. She was great. The others were clueless and no English. Overall service was poor due to the the fact that we had to ask 4 different staff for a bowl of rice which finally arrived freshly cooked in an earthen pot. A nice...

Too pricey for what we ordered. Some of the dishes were good but there were 3 dishes that big disappointment:

1. baby squids ( those weren’t baby at all, they big and taste funny.)
2. sour soup ( OMG, I don’t think they know how to cook it at all, no flavor of any soup, missing the taste of sour, sweet & salty.)
3. pork & fish clay pot ( I never ever have the dish that bad like it here. The meat was so dried and the fish is so fishy smell. Over all, don’t ever order that 3 dishes I did. And last but not least: ask the price before...

Wonderful! Visited on 14.4.2017. This huge old seafood restaurant is mainly frequented by groups. But also individual guests are serviced and welcome. You sit in a beautiful garden with old trees and the offered fish, lobster, etc. to see in water pools before you order. On the menu you will find three different types of preparation for each dish.
