Not too bad until a cockroach appeared.

My family came for dinner on a weeknight on July. I came to the restaurant every time I visit Nha Trang and always satisfied so I'm very excited to introduce the restaurant to my parents. We started dinner well until a cockroach appeared on my mother's plate. We were eating and chatting, then I suddenly saw a alive cockroach crawling on my mother's plate. I immediately informed everyone as well as the waiter. He came and asked where is the cockroach come from? I answered that we dont know cause we were busy chatting then he explained that the cockroach is still alive, so of course it isn't in the foods. He thought that the cockroach came from the roof, the sky and the wind blown it to my mother's plate by accident.

But we had no way of knowing whether that cockroach crawled through other plates of food before appearing on my mother's plate so we refused to continue eating the foods on the table. Another man came out and continued to confirm that the cockroaches were not from food, so my family could rest assured about the quality. I express my opinion once again that I am not sure whether the cockroaches crawled through the food plates or not, not the quality of the food and I wanted to check the camera. If the cockroach only fell on my mother's plate and didn't touch the other plates, I would consider continuing with dinner, but they informed me that there was no camera where I sat. Then He offered to remake a salad for us but the cockroach appeared on my mother's plate. I explained to him my concern about we dont know which foods the cockroach crawling through because the table is full of foods. The man said they can not do anything else because the cockroach appearing was just an unexpected incident and of course Our family cannot continue to eat in anxiety. I'm sad to say the quality of food just drops each year I have visited. I visited first time maybe 6-7 years ago and I was then quite happy with service as well as quality of food and the in house brewed beer. Sadly, the beer is the only thing that's still at the same rather good level. This time I came with friends and we had a family size pizza which had a good crust and looked really nice. Unfortunately there was absolutely zero flavor. The cheese was bland as the color beige and I could hardly taste any tomato. Salt, pepper and tabasco had to help the pizza come alive. I also had the pasta carbonara. A dish I've eaten here before and happy with it. Not this time! It was as the pizza totally without flavor. The only thing I could taste was the poor quality cream which came in overdose. Again the salt, pepper and tabasco had to help make the dish awaken from its comatose state. I also had piece of passionfruit cheesecake that I could make better myself with my eyes closed. It was absolutely the worst piece of cheesecake in my life. So. Was there anything good at all? Well, the coffee and the cointreau was great straight out of the bottle/coffee machine. And the beer was still the same as before. Rather ok that is. Service is also quite good for Vietnam standards. Prices are up there among the top restaurants in Nha Trang and its really not in accordance to what you get. So finally, the only thing that still speaks for this place is the very nice setting and beach proximity. I don't think I'll be coming back...

The place is considered the most decent in the city. I've been here several times since I live nearby. Be prepared that when there is no tablecloth on the table (at breakfast), a cockroach will run out of the gap in the table. Pho bo soup seemed very tasty to me until one of my dinners was brought stale. The texture of the meat was suspicious, but we were very hungry. Both my husband and I had a stomach ache the next day, while a lot of lime juice was added to the broth, which was unusual, since lime is usually brought separately and the soup is not sour at all. Apparently the lime juice was pre-added so we didn't feel like the food was spoiled. So spoiled food is also used here. Don't take this soup again. I once ordered grilled beef and it was just streaks, half spat out. Today I asked the waiter to bring a non-spicy salad as a side dish for meat, that is, without dressing with chili pepper. Salad separately - sauce separately. The waiter said that it was possible, but they brought it spicy anyway. I'm disappointed, especially for the price. If you go to Louisiana, then how lucky - there will be fresh food and a good piece of meat - they will bring them to you. And it will be spoiled or scraps - they will bring them.
