Riverside Restaurant / Coffee - Cuisine in a Peaceful alley riverside — Restaurant in Ninh Bình Province

The owners are a lovely young couple, and greeted us with smiles. A helpful sign from the main road pointed us in the right direction. We had some great food with portions just the right size. All food was freshly cooked in a clean kitchen and had a good taste. Unfortunately we didn’t get a view of the surroundings in the day time as we came for dinner, but we definitely recommend coming here.

Food: We ordered the fresh vegetarian spring rolls, noodles with eggs and vegetables, chips, mango smoothie and a 7Up (total: 175k VND). We enjoyed the food and felt it was a reasonable price.

Service: Clean cutlery, tables, outdoor sitting area and kitchen with attentive family staff. We didn’t use the toilets or ask if we could pay with card so I can’t comment on these things. Nothing at fault here.

Atmosphere: On the quiet side which, after a long bus ride, was just what we needed. There were two other tables being served so we didn’t feel too lonely. The decor is nice with a relaxing view out...

This restaurant is a hidden gem, tucked away from the main road. Only a small sign “Riverside Restaurant Food and Drink” directs customers to its location about 20m away from the main road. If you are near here, I strongly recommend eating here. The food is simple, tasty and clean. We ate here twice during our short stay at Ninh Binh. We like their fried noodles and fresh spring rolls. Their egg coffee is very good too. It is served on a hot water bath to keep it warm in the cool weather. The first time we ordered this, it was very sweet. I requested for some hot water to be added. But the proprietor added coffee instead and insisted on not charging us for this cup of egg coffee. They also gave us complimentary bananas on our first visit....

Beautiful small restaurant by the side of the river. Very impressed with the quality of the food, best food we have had in over a week or two in Vietnam since being in Ho Chi Minh. I ordered the Tofu in tomato sauce and it was clearly very freshly made, with amazing flavour from the tomatoes. Not too salty and not too heavy. Also ordered a papaya salad which was again very fresh and delicious. My partner ordered the chicken Pho which said was great. We also had fresh spring rolls which were huge and again so so so fresh. Not a massive menu so it's easy to choose. Good portion size and very good value,...
