the best gỏi đu đủ ive had in my entire life
update: i went back and ordered another but this time with a ton of ants crawling on the top. the woman said it's because the ants raided the peanuts, she told me the ants are not harmful but after i insisted she very kindly took it back but then came back 5 minutes later with the exact same plate of food but she had clearly just picked some of the ants off. by this point the dish was gross and wilted, i also ended up eating a ton of dead ants, i guess i felt bad sending it back again, i should have just told her i would pay for a new dish
i can't be too mad because i know she doesn't mean any harm and it costs money to make a new dish. but it still didn't leave me the best feeling
and also the owner's granddaughter (who is like 6 or 7) kept bothering and hitting my girlfriend (and trying to steal her and my wallets), so that wasn't too fun
overall this is just my experience, at the end of the day the food here is incredible. so I can't give it any lower...
Read moreLocal diner. The lady (the owner?) who cooked our dinners didn't speak much English. She made everything from scratch, except for the pho broth. We had to wait a bit to be served but our food was fresh, hot and very nice! The prices were not bad at all and the portions were decent too. We ate here twice during our stay. The second time we had the sweet and sour pork and the "rough pig needs garlic" (which is stir fried pork with garlic). They were both delicious. At the end of the meal we were given some fruit and the lady's own home made tapioca leaf tea, which is a nice gesture, although we didn't actually like the flavour of the tea. All in all, I'd recommend this place. (P.s. both times it was just us in there in July, which made us feel apprehensive, but as I said, the food was freshly made just for us and...
Read moreI ordered coconut juice and vermicelli with pork and I was given coconut water (and charged 35000 anyway) and vermicelli soup when in the menu didnt say it was soup. I didnt ask them to change it because I dont like food to be wasted. But the soup was horrible, the broth tasteless and had just broth, vermicelli, tiny bits of spring onions and bites of pork. No vegetables, no soy sprouds (like in pictures) they didnt even gave me mint leaves or things like that to put inside. My friends fruit juices were almost water. I cant believe they serve this horrible food to Vietnamesse people and I asume good reviews are from locals. They must serve bad food to tourist, unfortunatelly like many places in Vietnam. Stay away from this place if you are a tourists and dont want...
