Ando Bistro — Restaurant in Phú Quốc

We came for lunch today October 18.2024. 11.45am We ordered set lunch steak /meat menu . We keep asking again and again if the menu said it is US steak is soft and tender he said yet.He also said it will take 45 minutes to start the charcoals and we agreed . After about less than 30min. the food came . The steak was so tough like local beef. The pork ribs was so hard that I have to chew harder than meats we ever have before . The worst of all was the grease and fat pork meats. The sweet potato and regular potato was hard because its uncooked. Honestly it is the worst set meal my husband ever eat. My seafood spaghetti also extremely disappointed. Small shrimp, 3 so small clamps that I hardly see the meat.The 2 tiny scallops was so dried. 2 pieces frozen calamari present. I thought I wanted to be kind not to complain about its. I was very wrong not to return and cancel the meal . Because tonight my husband commented that it was the worst meals we have in a supposed to be a nice and good restaurant at Andochine Villas Resort in Phuquoc, the BBQ meats didn't have any BBQ flavor of charcoals, only then I realised it was not BBQ , it was pan fried with all the fat and grease. I didn't feel good and drank hot tea after the lunch. Now I'm really unhappy because I can cook and with my restaurant owner back ground I should complain and leave go to another restaurant instead of being nice. I won't return for a second meal or give the restaurant another chance. How could the chef treats us like this? Theirs sister restaurant ZO is must better . We stayed at the Andochine resort for 5 days so we used the Ando Bistro every morning and most of the evening during the stay. First, the service here is superb, second to none. Staffs are very friendly, attentive and helpful. They would always try to find ways to address our needs. Nam, Trang and Co are among the best servers that we had. My made delicious salted coffee. Now comes the food. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. Although there are not big selection, all dishes are good and very tasty. They offer different noodle soups every day so you don't get bored with one type of soup. Dinner dishes are mostly good too. Vietnamese dishes are extremely good and tasty. The only dish that would disappoint us a little bit is the grilled meat that could be a little tough some time. Prices are very reasonable too. The restaurant itself is clean and well maintained. Visited Ando Bistro & Club tonight for dinner and found the food to be awful. We ordered three dishes - a burger, pad thai and black pepper beef - none of which arrived together. The pad thai was specifically requested with no seafood and arrived without shrimp but with octopus. Others tasted the octopus which was tough and inedible. The burger was passable but nothing great and the beef in the black pepper beef was not cooked properly and after sending this dish back, it again arrived with the beef uncooked.
