Quán Hải Sản 343 (chủ mới) — Restaurant in Phú Quốc

We had fun because we are western tourists and this place was a madhouse adventure that really shouldn't be missed. But the food was mediocre and the prices high. We were entertained by everything going on! We practically drove inside the restaurant to park our motorbikes! Families were sitting on kiddie size plastic chairs around low tables in this warehouse sized restaurant. You can't hear anyone for the noise, and the garbage was piled up under and around the tables that were occupied (but tables were cleaned quickly when the guests left). Some tables had a crate or 2 of beer that was slowly being consumed. And the lady selling the Tiger beer was dressed in uniform, making sure all her customers had buckets of ice on the floor next to the table. A street vendor stopped by our table to sell us fruit and rice crackers. I couldn't understand how they let street vendors into a restaurant. Our local host says he calls this place an eatery rather than a restaurant, and the street vendors are ok. So we bought a huge rice cracker to share. We were given one menu for the table (4 people had to share a menu). I wanted a vegetarian dish, but my friends went all out on the seafood. Various dishes started appearing on our table, none of which we had ordered, but our order didn't appear until we got up to ask for it. And we finally cancelled one of the items we ordered because it was simply too late already. Meanwhile the World Cup was playing on the huge TV screen hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the structure, while a street magician started a magic show by the tables near the entrance, after which he made a round of the tables selling something. When our bill arrived we had to check it carefully and if course it was full of mistakes and we were grossly overcharged. Thank goodness our Vietnamese friends were with us.
