Must try restaurant in Phu Quoc. So happy we found this place on google maps. All good reviews, no regrets trying this place.
Went on a Monday night for dinner. No customers, yet the owner and his family welcomed us graciously. Communication was not a problem as the owner and his family could speak English. Was offered a table where the electric fan could reach us as it was a bit hot. When asked for food recommendations, the owner happily suggested items such as the fish, chicken wings, vietnamese pizza, spring rolls. They have various menu items available with affordable prices.
Ordered the following: Bacon pizza - As the owner described it, its a medium crust pizza, handmade. It was really cheesy and flavorful, served with a side of tomato chili sauce. Everything was made from scratch. Recommended, maybe we'll try other flavors too when we come back. Chicken wings - Made ala buffalo style wings but with fish sauce. It has a distinct fish sauce aroma but dont be dismayed because this was the highlight of our night. Very delicious, perfectly cooked chicken, marinated all the way through. Must try, 10/10. Fried spring rolls - Crispy, flavorful, well balanced taste, comes with a sweet spicy vinegar dip. This was also very good. Rice - Cant have a meal without rice 😅. To order rice, we had to use their word for it which is "com". Mango smoothie - Freshly made, sweet mango, the owner said he didnt use sugar yet it was sweet. Very good drink, refreshing. Beer - Cheap yet good local beer. Saigon beer. Free peanuts and fried lemon leaf - As we were given our drinks, the owner also gave free peanuts. Very tasty, garlicky, but also spicy. The lemon leaf was an interesting taste; it was salty, garlicky, and minty. I had to ask the owner what leaf he used, and was surprised you could roast and eat lemon leaves 😅
Opted not to try the fish. Maybe when we come back, but im sure these are all delicious also seeing as how the owner described the dishes and how fresh these are.
As we ate, the owner comes to check up on us and the food. Nothing but praises for his dishes and restaurant. Very accomodating and homey vibes. Open to chatting with the customers.
I'd say this is a gem of a restaurant here in Phu Quoc. A family run restaurant that puts pride and dedication to serving great dishes and an even greater dining experience. One of the highlights of our trip here. Such a wonderful experience. Thank you to Tin Tin Pizza Restaurant. Please visit them if you have...
Read moreWe tried this place this evening after reading so many good reviews and were not disappointed. Admittedly, it doesn’t look very glamorous from the road but it’s a real local gem. The ‘main man’, presumably the owner, has excellent English and is a really nice, chatty & funny guy.
Food was good and freshly prepared. I went for the veggie curry but it’s wasn’t hot / spicy enough for me so I asked for some black pepper. The owner did better than that, he arrived with some very fresh chopped chillies, which made it perfect.
My wife wanted a glass of wine with her meal but there wasn’t wine on the menu… no problem ! The owner said “go to the shop across the road, pick your wine and I’ll open it and give you a glass”… no fee for that. I had a few beers and our whole bill was under 300VND !
On top of all the good service and food, was a great music playlist in the back ground. Some great tunes, many you wouldn’t expect to hear in Vietnam. We left our half bottle of wine with them so we can have it when we return.. which we will in...
Read moreCute little restaurant, apparently a family business with a really nice and cozy interior so it stands out next to the cheap-quality plastic chair venues. They even separated the menu in vegetarian and non-veggie stuff which is pretty advanced compared to most places where they don't really offer any veggie options. They also have vegan options!
I ordered a papaya salad - not entirely my thing but after all the restaurant has pizza in its name so because I didn't try this one, I don't wanna judge too much about the taste. But the watermelon juice I had was fantastic, they also made it without sugar on my request. When I asked them to leave out the straw, I still got one but the owner saw my unpleasant expression, so he gave me a bamboo straw which was pretty awesome! But why not directly the bamboo one when you have the choice?
Anyway, the service was great, the food didn't take long to be served and staff is really friendly. When the owner realized we were Germans, he even talked to us in German for some sentences which was...
