Bun Rieu has always been a favorite, right up there with Bun Bo Hue. I adore making it myself and savoring the complex flavors. My American upbringing gave me a different taste perspective, which is interesting because Bun Rieu has so many variations! This is just the recipe I grew up with.

Recently, I discovered a fantastic Bun Rieu at a local shop. The broth was delicious– crystal clear and bursting with a perfectly blended flavors. Unlike anything I'd ever had, it was pure satisfaction with every slurp. They offered a lot of fresh vegetables and cooked bean sprouts, but what truly impressed me was the selection of dipping sauces, allowing you to personalize your flavor.

Thankfully, the restaurant is conveniently located on the main street and easy to find. They also serve Banh Canh, which I'm definitely coming back to try. The menu mainly features bún riêu and bánh canh, both loaded with seafood-based toppings. The seafood is incredibly fresh, giving it a great texture and flavor. The seasoning is on the milder side, so adding fish sauce or shrimp paste enhances the taste significantly.

Located right on the main road, near a traffic light at a three-way intersection, the place is hard to miss. Despite having two adjacent locations, both spots are usually quite busy.

The food is good, not exceptionally good, but better than some out there. The price is reasonable, tho there are premium options with relatively high prices if you want. There's also a nice self service counter with many different sauces, which really added to the dining experience.

The atmosphere is better than the normal stall you find around this street, with some notice papers with a hint of humor posted on the wall, together with open space and air conditioning.
