Disheartening to see the once favourite place fondly remembered for the memories it gave has been turned into a road side dhaba if not a shack!! went there for puja buffet at 3 pm slot, was astonished to see the place was overcrowded with hardly a few people to serve .The food had practically nothing! yes I mean it ,we had literally move around the counter for first 15minutes to detect a starter among the leftovers ,the set menu that they advertised was a myth!! the topshe fry never met our plate instead they insisted on serving some road side look alike fish chops!! the grill counter was more compromising, the chicken was hard and chewey ,the fish never came to your plate inspite of asking 4 times in a row.now coming to the main course ,the sorshe ilish is far from reality!! instead they had given deep fried paper thin pieces of hilsa, without any gravy such is the plight.what is more of a concern is the parshe in mustard sauce and veg fried rice were both stale and smelly!!! the mutton was bland and the final pin in the coffin is the biriyani ,should they have served any road side haji biriyani it would have been better!! and all this fuss at 2725!!! hyatt used to be foodies paradise specially the puja mahabhoj for its menu and taste it outshined other 5 star hotels of repute but sadly enough the management has been callous in maintaining the same .the reimagined water side cafe is nothing but a skeleton of the old one!!

A 5 star hotel if you're visiting your expectation will be sky high (specially when you're not frequent at high end places and on top they say they are running an Easter special Brunch). So we reached and went to the buffet floor. It seemed a bit small in terms of the space but a lot was arranged. Now it's a buffet. So I won't get into the nitty gritties of each item. However the reason I thought the food quality was amazing - 1. The sheer amount of choice. There were so many dishes starting from basic to exquisite. I think my favorite was the spicy pork, bone marrow soup, live pasta & sushi counter. 2. Presentation - the Easter theme was exactly on point. 3. Pricing (Kolkatar lokjon crib korbe eta niye) was exactly on point. Plus to include unlimited alcohol for a very reasonable top up was another surprise. 4. The cocktails were genuinely great. 5. The food available on the counters was tasty. 6. The option of veg was limited but it was sufficient. However, the live counter service to the table took longer than expected. Even cocktails we're taking time. There was enough staff, but not all of them seem knowledgeable. Also even though there was enough space inside, it would be nice to have an option of outside seating as well. But overall it was an extremely satisfying experience 😋😋😋

I wish I could give a zero. It is straight up disappointing to see a luxurious hotel fail so miserably. First of all, the waiters should be taught to return the change (I never faced this issue in any other 5 star hotel in the city). I read a review here before I went where another person complained about the same issue (so it's not an accident or a one time thing). I'll talk about this later but first let's talk food. I'm horrified by the fact that they served Mutton Rogan Josh so bland. Add some spices to it, India is literally known for spices !! The Rogan Josh had so much water that this place doesn't need another pool. I'm sorry if I sound rude because that was the level of disappointment (pain) I felt. I didn't feel like ordering desserts afterward. (We literally headed to another restaurant to feel our taste buds.) Now comes the saddest part of all. The waiter simply assumed I wouldn't want the change (Rs. 85) back. Had he returned the change, I would have given the 200 I had kept for him as his tip. That's just karma doing its thing, he missed a 200 for the 85. The view is somewhat comforting. I hope Hyatt's other restaurant (La cucina) will be better than this but Hyatt stays off my radar for sometime.

Menu Served from Waterside Cafe at La Cucina, Hyatt. Food Quality, comfort and customer service, everything was below standard. They mess up order and tables; they mess up in bringing ordered beverage and then even charge for the same. Their billing system doesn’t refresh the actual ordered item price. While multiple staffs serve one table, they do not communicate appropriately amongst each other. The noodles, fried rice and chilli chicken ordered was charged per hotel standards but tasted street style! The Fish Gremolata was salty but better than the rest. The only thing good were the fresh pineapple juices. We had a lot of trouble eating our food due to bad air circulation and suffocation owing to ill AC conditions. I’d requested them to arrange something special since we were going for celebrating my parent’s anniversary; firstly they said they didn’t receive any booking details, next, they said they can arrange for a card on the table and a cake, but all we got is one slice of pastry in a box (since by the end, we were tired of sweating while eating). Overall experience was horrible and my respect for Hyatt experience and food from my past experiences overseas, is killed by this particular hotel!

The view from this place is awesome. But the service is equally bad. We had ordered alá carte food items since was buffet was closing soon. First of all, the service was so late that we got fed up and contemplated leaving the place. Even the food arrived in batches, so all of us could not start together. Next the quality of food is not at par with the status of the hotel. I never had a well done steak that's hard as a rock and the chicken we ordered tasted the same as roadside stalls offering chicken curry with oodles of oil. The table presenter was not clear with his words and could not describe the dishes properly. He was even forgetting the orders we have placed and we had to remind him multiple times. And waiting for the bill was the longest wait in my life. We had finished our food and the bill arrived almost half an hour later. Still it had some unordered items and some items were missing. I am completely flabbergasted by the service offered by this café. But at last, I would like to end this review with the sweet taste of the blueberry cheesecake. It was the only thing worth having out there and it tasted surreal!
