Review of Ocean Basket's New Burger Range
If you're looking to try something new, head over to Ocean Basket and explore their latest burger range. During my visit, I opted for the calamari burger, and it was quite an experience.
While waiting for my order, I was served their in-house mini rolls accompanied by three dips: chili, garlic, and tartar. The rolls were incredibly soft, fresh, and had the perfect bread flavor. Among the dips, the garlic stood out as my favorite—rich and flavorful. The chili dip was well-balanced, not too overpowering, and the tartar dip was excellent, adding a creamy tanginess to the rolls.
When the calamari burger arrived, I was immediately impressed by the bun—it was super fresh, soft, and possibly the most delicious burger bun I've ever tasted. The calamari itself was tender with a perfectly crispy batter crust. The chips on the side were a delight—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The addition of lettuce/cabbage complemented the burger well, though I felt the sauce was a bit excessive. It slightly overpowered the delicate flavor of the calamari. That said, it was still a very delicious burger overall.
I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try their fish burger and prawn burger.

Read moreWe took a chance on this place and boy were not disappointed. The restaurant was clean looking and spacious. We were not on top of over diners which was really nice. The menu is simple, and easy to read and understand.
My friend and I both got the fish and chips, He ordered a panko prawns dish and I the panko prawns burger item. When it all first came out they gave me the fish version of the burger but they quickly remedied it and I got what I ordered.
All of the food was really good. There wasn't TOO much breading on the fish unlike how Keg does their onion rings. Everything had good flavor and the sauces were incredible. They also brought out some hot, not warm, hot bread and some dipping options for that. If you like a little spice as well as garlic put the butter on the bread, then the green Chile then the minced garlic. I was in heaven.
The server was friendly, easy to understand as well. She did forget to mention the metal frying pan looking service dishes they use was very hot but it honestly wasn't that big of a deal. Its full metal and I am a grown adult, I should of assumed it was hot.
For the drinks my friend had a coke, and I had water and a mojito, which turns out was blended but still tasted pretty good. Even with all we ordered the cost was still so much less than I expected and obviously a fraction of what we are forced to pay in the states for less quality. Go try them out. Its...
Read moreWe were at Ocean Basket in Kitwe and it's TERRIBLE TERRIBLE service! I ordered a Pina Colada, then waited almost 45mins for ot, kept asking where it is and eventually they come tel me they are waiting for the guy that's got the keys to the storeroom. I orderd eventually something else. We waited extremely long for food and it all came in batches. Some people were long done eating while others were still waiting for theirs. Then when we asked for the bill, it took almost half an hour to come. And instead of one whole bill, they gave the bill in 5 slips, and had to calculate the total on a calculator. Then on the bill was the Pina Colada that never came and asked them to give me a new bill. The manager then comes and tell me she's already removed it from the main bill, I asked to see it and she shows me her calculator on her phone. It's extremely unprofessional and horrible service. And it's not the first time we had issues there. 3 previous times it was just as bad. The whole restaurant is very...
