During our recent trip to Victoria Falls, we stumbled upon a gem that quickly became our favorite dining spot. This inviting restaurant may not focus on artistic presentations, but what it lacks in flair, it more than makes up for in flavor.
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a warm African atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The décor reflected the rich culture of the region, and the friendly staff contributed to the welcoming vibe. One delightful touch was the complimentary appetizers of peanuts and popcorn that were served as soon as we were seated—simple yet satisfying, they set the tone for our meal.
While the menu is somewhat limited, every dish we tried was incredibly tasty. We found ourselves returning for two out of our three dinners, a testament to how much we enjoyed the food. The loaded fries are a must-try; they are perfectly crispy and topped with a delicious medley of flavors that left us craving more. Additionally, the chicken dishes were fantastic, cooked to perfection and bursting with authentic spices that truly showcased the essence of African cuisine.
It was heartening to see locals supporting this establishment, which speaks volumes about the quality of the food. The atmosphere was lively and filled with a mix of travelers and residents, making it a great place to soak in the local culture.

We had dinner with a big group and in the end tried to pay the bills by credit cards. The machine seemed to be broken and always returned "payment declined". We all tried multiple times, but always the same. In the end we all paid cash. Sadly, afterwards we found out, that all of this "declined" payments actually went through and were charged. So we all paid our bills multiple times. We reached out to the GOAT team, but they refuse to refund the overpaid bills, even refuse to just answer. So you maybe will have some good food there, but they will probably rip you off. I would not recommend to...
Read moreGOAT is an excellent restaurant with warm, attentive staff and the best coffee in town. Perfectly located in the centre of Victoria Falls, it has a lovely atmosphere and even live music on some evenings.
We visited several times and loved every dish — from the Zambezi bream to the chicken with peanuts, Shona chicken in peanut butter sauce, and the slow-cooked dried meat. For dessert, the peanut & mango sticky pudding is a must-try!
The only downside is that dinner orders close at 9 pm and the restaurant shuts around 10 pm — but that’s understandable, given its location in the heart of a national park. Highly...
