I was disappointed a little by my visit here. We were welcomed well and nice. Food came early than we expected. However, as I was seated i noticed other tables were being served towels for refreshing themselves & our table wasn't given any. When the last plate of food was served we asked for water to wash our hands. The waiter did provided us with water. However, I felt discriminated. My family was dark skinned. All the others upon sitting before drinks every other table were offered towels to refreshen except for our table. I did not like that treatment. As far as I am concerned waiters must give everyone the same treatment whether dark skinned or light skinned. I had to ask for the towels after the food was served. Honestly, that wasn't a great sight to see. Feeling discriminated in our own land by our own people, yet other are treated better than us. When customers come they must not be judged by their background or origin but everyone must receive the same treatment. The food was good but that discrimination at first insight really put me off. Please improve your service. Whether light skinned or dark skinned offer the same level of office. PLEASE DO NOT DISCRIMINATE. I have forgotten the name of the waiter but I was...
Read moreWe chose Three Monkeys for pizza because it gets great ratings and it was within view of the Ilala Lodge. We had excellent servers-- friendly, fluent in English, and helpful.
The restaurant is open-air. The indoors section has a roof; the outdoor section has big awnings. The outdoors area is especially roomy. Although it was a busy night and there were families with young kids, we had a nice space to ourselves.
We split a Caesar Salad and a pizza Stagione. Both were excellent. I also enjoyed the Original gin cocktail.
Bella, the resident cat, was a big plus for us. We love cats, but we hadn't seen any in a month of travel. So we really enjoyed seeing this beautiful animal walk around her realm. If you don't like cats (or don't like them in restaurants), rest assured that she never begged for food and she stayed away from the tables unless people called to her.
The only negative thing is that there were insistent sellers/beggars who followed us. Instead of going around the block, we crossed a parking lot as a shortcut. The same guys were there before and after. It's hard to say if they would have followed us on the better-lit street, but...
Read moreI recently visited Three Monkeys restaurant and as promised, the piripiri chicken burger did not disappoint. The flavour explosion was incredible, I couldn't help but feel like it was worth the wait, despite the slow food service.
The burger was simply amazing! The chicken had the perfect level of spice from the piripiri seasoning, and the burger bun was soft and buttery. The crispy lettuce and fresh tomato slices perfectly balanced the heat of the chicken. However, I must say that the slow service experience was not what I had hoped for.
Although there was a bit of a wait time for our food to arrive, the staff were helpful and accommodating, which made our overall dining experience much better. The atmosphere was friendly and warm, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-kept.
Overall, if you're willing to be patient for some mouth-watering food that will make your taste-buds dance, I would recommend giving Three Monkeys restaurant a try. Just don't be in a rush to get in and out, savor the flavors and enjoy the friendly service. The piripiri chicken burger is...
