Sadly, there is nothing authentically Antiguan about any of the shops in this entire area, including all of the restaurants and food options.

You would think that you just dropped off in Italy or somewhere in Europe, as there is NOT ONE SINGLE SHOP RESTAURANT OR CAFE in all of Heritage Quay that offers a wide variety of the local indigenous (and amazingly delicious) foods like ducana, fungee, pepper pot, goat water, seasoned rice, etc, or locally produced products.

After casually walking into many of the shops in Heritage Quay and asking a simple question, "What products are actually made or produced in Antigua & Barbuda?" -- it did not surprise me that not one vendor could identify more than 1 handful of items or products in their shop that was actually locally produced.

The overwhelming majority of souvenirs are mass produced in China, and you will see these identical souvenir items in many countries across the globe.

There is no free accessible wi-fi in this tourist area, which is quite an inconvenience, and there are virtually zero shaded modern public spaces to sit and relax ANYWHERE in St. Johns or Heritage Quay.

It would be wonderful to see Heritage Quay with 100% local indigenous Antiguan high-end businesses and farm-to-table restaurants and vendors that can represent and share...

I was truly blessed to be here on a Christian mission ship, serving the community, the place is amazing, the people are fantastic. If you're going out their expecting a 5* experience everywhere then think again, because the Carribbean isn't like that unless you're booking into a flash hotel! The area is what it is, busy, hot, run down in places, the roads need work, it's loud and bustling, and humid and feels like the exhaust fumes kind of stick to you in the heat, but the atmosphere and the people and the place surrounding The quay is Amazing! Definitely worth exploring, there's markets, fruit sellers, fish stalls, loads of shops, just off the quay, a beautiful pottery shop, (which is pricy) and a pancake and ice cream shop! 100% worth visiting the area of you go to St John's, Antigua at any point, just for the experience! I'd do it all again in a heartbeat, especially for the people, and I spent 10 days docked on a ship there! Experience the Carribbean as it really is, not how it's portrayed in the whole resort photos! Real people living humble modest lives, and if you want to explore a bit further, you can find taxis that will spend all day with you for around £60 and drive you about and just stay by your side waiting for you! Plus there is 365 beaches in Antigua, one for every day...

A great place to shop. The watch I am wearing right now was purchased there over 16 years ago, Some of my best cameras and accessories were from a shop in the Quay as well. The duty free prices and availability of international products makes shopping quite worthwhile and attractive.

Recently expanded with additional Cruise Ship 🚢 Docks, Walkways and shopping facilities.

Heritages Quay Shopping Complex with the neighbouring Vendors Mall, Radcliffe Quay, Cruise Port and a host of other attractions and establishments make Antigua a popular destination.

With Entertainment, some local and cultural and others seasonal a visit is quite fulfilling. Apart from Shopping and entertainment, I find myself just visiting to chilax.

Jewelry, Clothing, accessories, Electronics and Perfumes are just some of the many Duty free Items available for Purchase.

More can be said however Heritage Quay is an experience to relish with...

The people their HARASS you to by something from their souvenir shops. I mean every single one. Even had attitude when I didn’t buy something.Little do they know, the ones who don’t say anything is the one I’d probably stop by and check out. So obnoxious.. Then the worst was this man from the island trying to rub aloe on me and my gf by where the ships come in. Thought he was being nice until he demanded $10. I said we don’t have much time here, and I don’t have change. He whistled to someone who was going to give me the change and I was so furious at this point. My gf told him here’s $5 and take your aloe back and we walked away. It was a little scary at 1st since we were new to the island and didn’t know what he was capable of but nothing happened. It ruined our mood. If I visit the beautiful island again, I will NEVER return to this area for shopping. I’ll rather pay a lil more and buy at the hotels gift shop.

Very short walk on a long pier and you are rewarded with being in the thick of St Johns, shops, very colourful, bars and restaurants, and of course tour boats of many sizes. It's really easy to wander ashore and amble through the colourful streets, loads of photos, plenty of seats and incredibly lots of free WiFi. We only wanted a short end of day stroll which we really enjoyed but had we known how close the tour boats are we would have spent the day ashore and hopped on a ferry or tour. They are very similar in price to the ship excursions but you are supporting local operators which might be important to you and there are more variety on offer. Worth checking Google or Trip Advisor for guidance as it's a really interesting island if you the time to plan... You can rent ebikes, snorkeling gear etc ashore if you couldn't bring your own.
