Mother of Armenia - A Towering Monument of History and Serenity

If you're looking for a breathtaking view of the city combined with a profound sense of history, then a visit to the Mother of Armenia statue is an absolute must. Standing tall at 22 meters, this magnificent bronze statue atop a 51-meter platform offers an unparalleled panoramic view of the entire city.

Originally erected in 1957, the Mother of Armenia replaced a statue of Joseph Stalin, symbolizing a significant shift in the nation's identity and values. The decision to demolish Stalin's statue in 1951 reflects a pivotal moment in history, marking the end of an era and the dawn of a new one.

Located near Victory Park, the statue provides not only a stunning viewpoint but also a serene atmosphere conducive to reflection and contemplation. As you gaze out over the cityscape, you can't help but feel a sense of awe at the beauty and resilience of Armenia.

One of the most striking features of the monument is the ever-shining light in front of the statue, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during World War II. Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to use coin-operated binoculars to enhance their viewing experience, allowing for a closer look at the city below.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life, the Mother of Armenia offers something for everyone. Soak in the beauty, absorb the history, and enjoy the tranquility of this...

Nơi đây từng đặt tượng Stalin. Armen and Lena climbed the hill to the Mother Armenia Monument, a colossal figure of a woman with a sheathed sword. From the base, they looked out over the city of Yerevan, a peaceful mosaic of pink and gold. “She looks so powerful,” Lena said, her gaze fixed on the statue’s stoic face. “But her expression is peaceful, not angry.” “That’s the point,” Armen explained, his voice full of pride. “She represents peace through strength. She holds the sword to protect, not to threaten.” He then told her the surprising history of the pedestal—how it once held a towering statue of Joseph Stalin, a symbol of a different era. Lena was in awe. The monument was not just a statue; it was a living story of a nation’s resilience and change. They stood for a long time, hand-in-hand, absorbing the view and the profound meaning of the silent mother watching over...
