Victory Park — Attraction in Yerevan

What I like is that there is a nice park leading up to the hundreds of stairs with multiple Fernando Botero's statues, permanently on display as well as many other interesting full sized art. There is shade, a nice view towards the top and many seating areas along both sides to sit, relax and take on the view. Both sides of the park are lined with restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating. This park comes alive in the evening with locals and tourists strolling about and many climbing the stairs to the top.

THere are three levels, I think to the top. The pleasant color of locally quarried stone line the stairs, alcoves and buildings along the way. The stairs are comfortable in their width and height for anyone to comfortably make their way up. There are plenty of options to sit along the way, mostly the medium walls bordering the vegetation. Each level provides an option to rest and take in the view below. As you get to the immediate top...the is unfinished construction which seems to have stopped a while ago. Deeply excavated ground with some laid foundation and rusted rebar columns left bent out of shape. I hope they haven't given up on this. THere is a way to go past this fenced of area along a maintained path and a short walk through a neighborhood uphill. A further climb up the stairs reveal a square with the monument on one side and a spectacular view of the city and mount Ararat on the other. The square is dirty, appears not maintained . There are benches for sitting there as well. If you have enough energy I would recommend walking a bit further up the street and going under an underpass to the other side of the street and taking a short walk toward the tomb of the unknown soldier with a large statue, an eternal flame and again beautiful views...

Այգու կառուցման աշխատանքներն սկսվել են 1930-ականների վերջին և այգին կոչվել է «Քաղաքային այգի Արաբկիրում»։ Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմից հետո այն վերանվանվել է «Հաղթանակ» այգու, որի ամայի տարածքներում տարիների ընթացքում ծառեր են տնկվել։

«Հաղթանակ» զբոսայգու հուշահամալիրը բացվել է 1950 թվականի նոյեմբերի 29-ին։ Նույն օրն այգում բացվել է Ստալինի արձանը, որի պատվանդանի հեղինակը ԽՍՀՄ ժողովրդական ճարտարապետ Ռաֆայել Իսրայելյանն է։ Պղնձե արձանն ուներ 17 մետր բարձրություն, հեղինակը ԽՍՀՄ ժողովրդական նկարիչ Սերգեյ Մերկուրովն է։ 1962 թվականին Ստալինի արձանն ապամոնտաժվել է։ Պատվանդանը հինգ տարի մնացել է դատարկ։ 1967 թվականին Ստալինի արձանի տեղում տեղադրվել է Արա Հարությունյանի հեղինակած «Մայր Հայաստան» արձանը։ 1970 թվականին հուշահամալիրի շենքում բացվել է Հայրենական Մեծ պատերազմին Հայաստանի մասնակցությանը նվիրված թանգարանը, որը 1995 թվականին վերանվանվել է «Մայր Հայաստան» զինվորական թանգարանի և անցել ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարության ենթակայության ներքո։

1955-1956 թվականներին այգում տեղադրվել է առաջին ճոճվող նավակ կարուսելը, 1959 թվականին այգում բացվել է «Արագիլ» ռեստորանը (ճարտարապետ՝ Ռաֆայել Իսրայելյան)։ 1958 թվականին սկսվեց «Արևիկ» արհեստական լճի կառուցումը, որը շահագործման հանձնվեց 1961 թվականին։ Լճի հեղինակը ՀԽՍՀ վաստակավոր ճարտարապետ Հովհաննես Հակոբյանն էր։ Լիճը կրկնում է Սևանա լճի ձևը։ Ամենախորը հատվածում լճի խորությունը կազմում է 8,5մ։ Լիճը նախատեսված է եղել լողալու համար, սակայն ջուրն օգտագործվել է նաև ոռոգման համար և բուսականության վրա քլորի առկայությունը վատ անդրադարձի պատճառով 1969 թվականից արգելվել է քլորի օգտագործումը ջրում և լճում լողանալը դարձել է անհնարին։ Այժմ լճում հնարավոր է նավակ վարել։

1983-1985 թվականներին այգին փակվել է վերակառուցման համար։

1985 թվականի մայիսի 9-ին՝ Մեծ հաղթանակի 40-ամյակի օրը տեղի ունեցավ Հերոսների ծառուղու և Անհայտ զինվորի վերակառուցված գերեզմանի (ճարտարապետ՝ Ռաֆայել Իսրայելյա) հանդիսավոր բացումը (ճարտարապետներ Աշոտ Ալեքսանյան ու Անահիտ Նավասարդյան)։

1988-1989 թվականներին նորացվել է «Պտտվող անիվ» կարուսելը։ Զբոսայգու բարեկարգման և կանաչապատման հարցերով զբաղվում է «Քանաքեռ-Զեյթուն բարեկարգում» ՓԲԸ-ն։

2011 թվականին բարերար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի կողմից սկսվել է «Հաղթանակ» զբոսայգու վերակառուցման ծրագիրը։

Այգում գործում են տարբեր կարուսելներ՝ Պտտվող անիվը, Շղթան, Ավտոդրոմը, Ճոճանակը, Մանկական շղթան, Օրբիտան և...

Très joli parc pour ballade avec superbe vue le soir sur Yerevan. Mais de grâce cantonnez vous aux attractions à base de tir. Ne faites rien qui vous monte à plus d'1m50 du sol... Et SURTOUT n'allez pas dans l'espèce de mini montagne Russe à l'entrée du parc... Ça doit dater de l'union soviétique et je doute de la régularité des contrôles de sécurité... En guise de "ceinture de sécurité", une chaînette prolongée d'un crochet très tordu que l'on devait rentrer dans un anneau. Pas de mousqueton. C'est la que j'ai commencé à regarder autour de moi et réfléchir. De la rouille partout. Un manège qui date de Brejnev. Déjà que les technologies soviétiques, quand elles étaient neuves n'étaient pas réputées pour leur fiabilité. Alors imaginez au bout de 30 ans après l'effondrement du bloc de l'est... Et si il vous arrive quelque chose, l'Arménie est pleine de qualités mais les assurances, c'est pas leur fort... Au moment où mon cerveau me dit de changer d'avis et que j'allais le signaler à mon épouse pour qu'elle traduise au gèrant du manège d'attendre pour que nous descendions, ce dernier actionne une manette type changement de voie ferrée. Et là, l'enfer commence. Le truc démarre sur les chapeaux de roues et vous prenez deux. Le truc grince, craque et vibre tant qu'il peu. Chaque virage est un enfer, surtout du côté où vous êtes balancé sauvagement du côté ou la ceinture à la difficile tâche d'assurer votre survie, tout votre poids étant porté sur le "crochet" défectueux. Et inutile d'espérer que toute la force que vous contentez dans vous mains suffise à vous tenir tant les virages, l'inclinaison et la vitesse sont élevés. Ce truc aurait pu servir de simulateur aux cosmonautes pour supporter les G ! Au bout de trois tours seulement qui m'on paru durer une éternité, je parviens à lâcher la barre pour faire un geste de croix avec les bras, signe international pour dire stop. Message reçu, le gérant actionné de nouveau sa manette et les wagons pile t avec une rare violence. Honnêtement si il n'y a pas déjà eu un accident mortel sur cette attraction c'est un miracle ! Donc contentez vous de la ballade mais de grâce évitez les manèges...
