Un monument situé au sommet du Cascade, l’escalier monumental d’Erevan, dédié aux victimes des répressions soviétiques. Conçu par l’architecte Jim Torosyan, dont le père fut exécuté durant les purges staliniennes, il comporte une inscription inspirée du poète Yeghishe Charents, mort en prison en 1937. C’est un bâtiment austère qui inspire le dégoût et la tristesse (surtout à l’intérieur), et il s’impose en haut des terrasses, à proximité de l’obélisque de l’Arménie soviétique, comme un rappel de cette période de l’histoire.
