Grand Candy — Restaurant in Yerevan

A nice and funny local legendary place to get acquainted with just out of curiosity :)

While staying in Yerevan almost from every colleague of yours you hear that there is some very renown from the Soviet era cafe on Mashtots Ave. cooking so delicious donuts or rather fritters that you should taste them in any case and on every occasion :). We decided to have there our coffee break not to lose this opportunity :). The very place is clean and enlightened, spacious enough and with a lot of people inside. Yes, staff seemed to be very tired already and therefore, rather indifferent to customers but not crude as some think :). Well...., donuts factually appeared rather not "rings of misery" but some big jam or chocolate pies :). The quality of such pies seemed to be good (not provoking heartburn after taking them inside) but coffee accompanying them was very-very mediocre, indeed :(. Prices for everything are very affordable.

Overall, if you walk some around and wish to grab some coffee - it seems to be reasonable to fulfill your desire here but to visit this cafe especially could be a little...

After such an amazing Armenian hospitality overall in last 2 weeks, this is first place I found, which turned out to be completely disaster experience. The staff who works here, have no respect for customers. The Manager Maria close down the counter 15 minutes earlier then 8:00 PM time. So People were waiting in line to order but to only realize that they can’t order anything. Why you have line in first place and why your doors are not closed, when you are not serving? Then when people asked what’s going on, Manager Maria rudely behave to customers. Seriously what’s wrong with this place and management who hired this...

#GrandCandy#mustvisit After a visit to Matenadaran, we passed by Grand Candy in Mashtots. Our kids were very delighted to see the different candies, cakes, chocolates, and a lot more. The kids bought so candies and as for me and my husband we tried their dark chocolate (really taste soooooo sooooo good).

After that we went to buy their chocolate and vanilla donuts. Taste really wonderful....we first tasted it Dec. 29. We went back Dec. 30 to eat there again. And again, we will be back there tomorrow for their donuts.

I recommend guests visiting Yerevan, Armenia to try it too.
