Hart's Mill — Attraction in Adelaide

Yeah, I bloody love the Port and Harts Mill is one of my faves! I love history and this 'burb is filled with it. The addition of the Wonderwalls festival truly brings vibrancy to the Port by mixing the old and the new. Harts Mill is the home base for many events such as Laneway, Winter Wonderland and Wonderwalls festivals. Throughout the year the space includes a kids playground and the gorgeous waterside Folklore Cafe too. There's not much else I can really say about this area except that I love seeing it being regenerated to hopefully one day resemble a suburb like WA's Fremantle. That may never happen, but that's the aim and Harts Mill is truly the centre of that...

To make it clear: Hart's Mill is a complex of several buildings. The Mill itself is mostly kept as after raging fires and is not accessible to the public.

The partly renovated buildings accessible to the public are the FLOURSHED and the PACKINGSHED which are used now for the Arts and for entertainment.

To "RATS in toilets" Everywhere where a river is is also vermin. During the nearly 15 years at the Port and during all times of day I never was greeted by a rat or even mouse in whatever quiet / secluded areas I was to get my photos. Amazing space for festivals and markets, amongst the old buildings which create nostalgic atmosphere. We went here for winterfest with the kids and had a ball doing a spot of ice skating, checking out the markets and indulging in a mulled beverage. A much better area to host the laneway festival, compared the dog box fowlers-unisa combination from previous years. I could see myself actually being able to breathe while moving amongst the crowd and have sone isolation between the stages. Look forward to seeing more events here in a effort to bring more people...
