First of all, booking through ticketmaster was a nightmare, which apparently was my only option.. my experience at thebby was not a lot better. Im basing my review on two seperate occasions. The first time they got us through the door very fast, unfortunately we were so squished in and waiting around for ages, i mean legitimately a long time with so many people you could not walk around without great difficulty. Anyway i finally get in, and i noticed as with the second time also, the theatre itself seriously smells of wee. Which as you can imagine set a great mood... the lounges were good, leather is a bad choice but oh well, there was a lot of room in these chairs, very comfortable, raised so i didnt have to have x ray vision to see the stage, nice, i feel i got what i paid for and maybe a bit more on that ocassion. The second time was a disaster. Yes we got in the door fast, and were not waiting in the lobby for 30mins+ which was great. This time i was in the balcony, supposedly some of the best seats available as stalls are squishy. Wow, i dont know where to start. The seats were basically as squishy as stalls, and even worse quality. My heart skipped a beat a few times initally as i thought i was going to fall backwards because they were so wobbly and just garbage quality. The floor was not carpeted, which is fine but it was so sticky i felt like spiderman, i swear my shoes were sticking to it almost to an unbelievable degree, has it literally ever been cleaned?? And to top off the squishy wobbly chairs, if you are sitting on the side of the balcony close to the wall dont expect to see much. I am 5’9 and had trouble seeing around the person in front who wasnt freakishly large. I just think at the very least i should be able to see the stage when i buy seating at your venue. The show went for nearly 4 hours it was fine the first half towards the end it was very stuffy and too hot for my liking, just some air filtration would be nice! So overall this place is sloppy, disgusting, disappointing and if an act was there i liked it would take a LOT for me to want to go back and even then id only trust the lounges, which is unfortunate because it is quite far back. I seriously hope thebarton theatre has a major makeover and attitude change towards its customer satisfaction or else you might as well get a bulldozer and finish the place off. Fix your...
Read moreWhen I last went to the Thebarton Theatre to watch Public Enemy and Ice Cube, in the early to mid 2000s, I found it quite uncomfortable standing up, with no view of the performing acts, people in the crowd all drugged up, blowing disgusting fumes of 'Pot' in the air and into my face to breathe, and other drugs., even smoking cigarettes., and they were intoxicated. People in the crowd pushing and shoving, being inconsiderate and out of control. So I wonder why Henry Rollins is playing in this unkempt and small venue, instead of performing at the Festival Theatre or the Entertainment Centre, which would be much fresher, more innovate and modern, as compared to the shabby look which is very old, the Thebarton Theatre. Any comments would be appreciated. In comparison to Sydney and other states, where their venues are all brand new, I wonder how the overseas visitors view our Thebarton Theatre from the exterior, looking all delapidated, on a delapidated street, with a delapidated interior as well. I am quite ashamed to be honest, that such an Icon as Henry Rollins is performing in this place. I saw him in 1989 @ Le Rox. No stupid Iphones to distract the audience back then, it was just a disposable camera I had and I took the...
Read moreI felt Hans at the. Symp-hony was way over priced they had far too many people in the theatre jammed in tight together I could touch the person in front of me and due to a larger person sitting next to me I was jammed in between hubby and them Luckily our row wasn't full and we could spread out Hans is very talented and a professional showperson but that's it really a bit of glamour and lighting The dancers were great the orchestra were great but it was too loud and at times Hans voice was drowned out It took ages to get in so prepare to line up and wait due to COVID QR coding ,"why are we doing this when no one is tracing anymore" and as everyone attending is vacinated we should be safe & some people didn't keep mask on although they stopped people dancing which was good due to others that couldn't see cause you're dancing dah !! Overall I wouldn't waste my money again the fringe is amazing to bringe talent here Go and see an amazing show "Oracle" simply brilliant good money spent on performers that...
