My experience at dining here was both good and bad. My meal was absolutely delicious and I actually took my time in enjoying the beautiful flavours of my Pad Thai, hats off to the chef as it was a perfectly balanced meal. However the customer service was appalling and lacking any type of real effort. Well, when I got to the till the chap was fake friendly at least but it took forever to get acknowledged. The waitress was rude and emotionless in my opinion despite me being courteous and pleasant. For some reason getting a glass of water and some extra bowls when I asked was such a big deal for the waitress that I had to get it myself.

I know being the Easter weekend they were busy but the waitress could have been more polite and apologetic if she was too busy to facilitate this request.

Have we really become a society based on profit and turnover as opposed to making some small effort of customer service? If you are going to charge high prices (2x meals + 5x sushi=$80 for lunch!), then at least put some effort in to your customer service.

This was 5 star food with 1 star...

Disappointing Experience at Chopstix, Apollo Bay

We were torn between The Vault and Chopstix, but unfortunately, we chose the latter—and regretted it. The food is way overpriced for the quality. I ordered the Tom Yum noodles, which were nothing like the authentic dish. Instead of the usual spicy and sour flavor, it was overly sweet. The flower crabs and prawns didn’t taste fresh at all, which was a big letdown. My child had the Teriyaki noodles, and those were too sweet as well. It honestly felt like the place doesn’t do Asian food any justice.

To make matters worse, I witnessed something that completely ruined my experience: the waitress stuck her thumb (while wearing a blue glove) into my Tom Yum soup while serving it. Not only is that unhygienic, but it also made me feel uncomfortable and concerned about the cleanliness of the restaurant overall.

Even though the place may appear crowded at times, I strongly recommend avoiding it—especially for tourists looking for a good meal...

The thing that saves this place is good cafeteria quality asian food (its not great nor really authentic, more tailored to non-adventurous aussies who like watered down internal cusiine - but its certainly good). This place is clearly not suited to me - so take my review with a pinch of salt. The service is pretty poor. Front counter staff surly and dismissive. Its busy I get it. When I politely asked after 35mins (and a 5min trip outside to get vino nearby) when the food might be out (3 orders after my number had left already) I was actively and rudely advised to be patient , my number would be called when it was ready. That is fine but the initial expectation set was 20mins so I simply didnt want my food going cold for 15mins if Id missed it while I stepped away. Food was dropped across the counter like a hot potato. Not fine dining, I know. But for 80 bucks you expect to be treated with a...

In our opinion there is both good and bad things about this popular hang out first the good. There appear to be good choices for Noodle style food on the menu & the food is served hot and my vegetarian nasi goreng was satisfying . On the negative side the dishes came out at odd times with the nasi goreng within a few minutes but the rest of the dishes took 15 minutes. The vegetarian spring rolls were incredibly overcooked and I have to wonder if the cooking oil has been changed recently based on the taste. I only took a few bites. My wife ordered the sauté chicken skewers which we presumed we’re going to be grilled but they ended up being deep-fried and not satisfying see pic. The venue was busy and the staff seemed a little overworked in a somewhat chaotic environment.

Visited twice during our time in Apollo bay. Portions are generous. First visit: ordered ninja laksa and nasi goreng (fried rice). Laksa was flavorful, generous amount of seafood (1 crab leg, prawns, squid, mussel), laksa soup was also very drinkable. Fried rice had generous amount of ingredients and good wok-hei. Second visit: had Thai green curry and bbq pork with fried Singapore noodles. Thai green curry was yummy too! Fried noodles was on the saltier and oiler side, would have enjoyed it more if it was less salty and oily. BBQ pork doesn’t taste like Chinese style bbq pork (char siew), but it was acceptable. Noticed that the staff on our second visit were all different from the staff on our first visit. May have contribute to varying food standards in the reviews
