Incredible sculpture garden located between the National Gallery and Lake Burley Griffin.

The sculpture garden is connected with the National Gallery and includes a number of spectacular objects. From the more traditional style sculpture of Rodin through to a ginormous Flugelman construct.

By far my favourite of the artworks is the Fog Sculpture by Fujiko Nakaya. The sculpture is only visible between 12.30-2pm daily, with mists building up and engulfing the area. Sculptures take on a different feel with the mists surrounding them, and it is an amazing photo opportunity.

It’s free entry and has plenty of space for picnics. Public toilets and cafes are available nearby. Parking is a little tricky, I would suggest the the paid parking under the NGA is closest, but the National Portrait Gallery paid parking is...

Loved the fog sculpture section of the garden, which we had seen on a television documentary recently and were keen to visit. Signage indicates that the fog only operates at certain times, so worth checking that before you visit. We were there around 1:30 pm and it was operating then. Very cool and atmospheric feature that would be wonderful on a really hot day. The garden in general was a pleasant short stroll amongst other sculptures, although looking a little tired in places. Also worth visiting the national gallery afterwards, of which the garden is an...

This is attached to the National Gallery so hopefully you will have already been inspired, however the sculptures in the garden are definitely worth their own review and some time to appreciate. A scale version of the Guardian of the North watches over the lake. The fog sculpture is magnificent and you should make an effort to visit during its restricted times. Rodin is represented and the bushland setting is calming and allows you to discover the sculpture as you walk through the gardens. The sculpture garden is definitely worth whatever time you...

Such a surprise walking along Lake Burley Griffin to find an art haven and amazing sculpture oasis set in the beautiful gardens of the National Gallery of Australia. I learned that the plants are native, and the sculpture garden included the surrounding area between the lake and the NGA. The landscape was picturesque and the modern sculptures creative and captivating. Such a relaxed atmosphere even with king parrots flying through the trees. It’s also not everyday you get to see a Rodin sculpture in a garden!

We visited Sculpture Garden which is located next to The National Gallery of Australia. It is a short walk from the gallery and there is a nice path to the lake. There are benches to sit and appreciate the sculptures with a view of the lake. Taking in the sculptures, lake view and cool breeze was a great experience.
