Regrettable to post this. Frequent visitor to this cafe but it has gone downhill. Friendly staff but this cafe is run by group of money grabbing zealots. The food quality has slipped considerably. The prices are outrageous and frankly, it’s a rip off compared to other cafes in the area in terms of quality, quantity and presentation. Forget about asking to change anything, even if it’s the easiest and slightest thing. The side prices are ridiculous also. I ordered 2 poached eggs, requested no toast, asked for ONE strip of bacon (yes, technically a side), some hollandaise sauce on my eggs and got a mug of flat white. No toast, no garnish, no tomato or anything. Cost $32.35!!! Spoke to staff. Fobbed off. This place is not worth the money sorry to say folks. Average coffee and completely inflexible. The old lady behind me was served stone cold porridge and was told all they could do was microwave it and was charged extra for milk to go with her tea! Who wants stone cold porridge on a cold Canberra morning! She was livid as well. It’s a shame as it used to be a great place. Would no longer recommend. Food quality is now low, coffee is very average (luke warm), service was ok but complete inflexibility with menu and don’t care that they’re blatantly ripping people off. My minuscule breakfast there cost more than a lunch meal elsewhere. Outrageous. NB. staff also do not inform you regarding pricing for any change to your order so you’re left powerless. In times like this, with everyone on a budget, this cafe needs to do better. Flippant and money grabbing and if you politely ask or question anything you’re fobbed off. NO regard for return business or customer satisfaction. Very disappointing. Can’t wait to see what they come back with regarding my...

Appalling customer service. I asked for a modified vegan option and was told that they would be able to do so at no additional cost. Then when the bill was paid I noticed that I was charged $10 extra despite having eggs and cheese removed from the meal. When I enquired about why wasn't I informed about this before being served the meal, the girl behind the counter tried to explain that i was being served the same dish that was on the menu. I said that I had been charged $10 extra even though the most expensive items on the plate had been removed. She then said that she would refund the money. My friend that had paid then went in to get the refund because they are too incompetant to split bills, and then was told that they had changed their mind and they weren't going to refund the money. My friend was then offered only a $5 discount, but she had to inform them of how unacceptable that was but in the end was refunded. Ultimately, there are so many better options around Canberra where people go above and beyond to provide a high quality service. The meals were overpriced and not that tasty. My friends and I will never...

Rude service and terribly overpriced food. We made a booking for breakfast and when we arrived were abruptly turned away and told we could sit outside without heating. We had 2 young children and there were several vacant tables inside.

Just as I was about to place our order I was told there now was a table inside (still many vacant tables mind you) I then had to reorder my food online.

We waited over half an hour for one of our 3 dishes to arrive. Several people who arrived after us received their food before us. I had to follow up with the waitress where our other meals were.

My omelette was grossly overcooked and may have as well been a Quiche.

Rude waitstaff, lack of atmosphere and were made to feel unwelcome and ignored. The coffee was burnt.

Do...

Location/Atmosphere Great location, lovely open dining & outside dining available. Plenty of seats. Food Food was excellent. We had the Ham & Potato Croquettes which came with halloumi & poached eggs + the 12-hour slow cooked pork benedict garnished with apple shavings, absolutely delicious. Service Service for seating & ordering was lovely. Only small hiccup was requesting to take plates while one of us was still eating and not far off finishing. Would have been 5 star had the waitress given us a bit more time to completely finish before interupting or perhaps asking how the food was first. A "hello" or "excuse me" first before "can I take your plate?". Lovely experience overall. Thank you.

Loved it. The ham and cheese croquettes were so good. Big serving too, which was a nice surprise. The big breakfast was excellent. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Everything you want and nothing you don't. I had to order via the app which I didn't love, because it prevents the user from making non-standard alterations to the menu items. Good coffee. There's a bit of a line for coffee during peak times on a weekday, but they usually churn through the orders pretty quickly and the food doesn't take too long.

HUGE SERVING of the Pulled Pork Benedict - you do not need sides! However ... I’m glad I ordered a side of Croquets as they were the only thing on the plate that were half enjoyable. The Pork was super dry, like leftover roast pork from a few days ago dry, and the bread was soggy as the eggs were full of water which makes $19 pretty pricey. The coffee and service was excellent though, so 2 stars for that. Would come back to give it another shot just for the Coffee.
