Canberra Reptile zoo is complying with government standards to ensure Covid-19 safety protocols are up to date. This includes increased cleaning routines, readily available hand sanitising stations, refusing entry to people that turn up exhibiting symptoms consistent with illness, requesting the first name and phone number of one member for each group and recording entry numbers to ensure we do not exceed social distancing ability. For more information or our complete policy please contact management.

With over 50 different species of reptiles and frogs on display, the Canberra Reptile Zoo is large enough to be impressive but still small enough to have a very strong hands on approach.

For nearly a decade Reptiles Inc has been coming to your home or function centre and performing a fun and educational birthday presentation with the birthday person as the primary assistant. We still offer this service, but you can also come to us and have your next party at the Zoo!

The Canberra Reptile Zoo offers fun & educational birthday parties for all ages; and private functions for your workplace, club or social group.

The outdoor undercover function area becomes your area to set up as you see fit. Tables and chairs are included in the area, and BBQ facilities are available for no charge. Bring your own food or have Cafe Injoy next door cater for you.

2 hour period using our function area Free entry included to the Canberra Reptile Zoo for you and all your guests during the party Guided tour of all our enclosures 1 hour live hands-on reptile show for your guests performed in a private section of the zoo

Birthday parties: Total cost is a flat fee of $285 for up to 15 children. Extra children are welcome at $10 per child.

Canberra Reptile Zoo is a very popular destination for school visits, with long or short sessions available.

All weather facility means no cancellations due to weather. Bookings are available from 9am to 9pm, 7 days a week.

Fun as well as educational, this very personal setting encourages hands-on interaction, and focuses heavily on Australian fauna.

After you're done with the national tourist attractions in Canberra, your students will appreciate this fun activity (whilst you sneak in some learning for them!).

Tours and live hands-on reptile shows starting from $10 per child (minimum charges apply).

Large groups discounts are available - we can cater for groups up to 100 children.

One of Australia's most passionate reptile businesses. So large it takes 3 locations to bring you one complete service.

Canberra Reptile Zoo at Gold Creek Village - our premium educational tourist destination.

For reptile keepers, our retail outlet in Kambah and our new Reptile & Aquarium store in Queanbeyan for all your reptile & aquarium keeping needs.

For your next event or school fete, don't forget our mobile...

Tucked away behind a retail strip, it’s incredible what they’ve got here. The zoo is split into a few rooms, some outdoor enclosures for large monitors and owls, a playground/party area for kids and a gift shop which is also an extremely robust reptile-centric pet and supply store. There’s a building under construction which I believe is the future habitat for the saltwater crocodile Charlie. Currently he is being housed indoors in an enclosure that is definitely inappropriate for a permanent home for him, so I hope the new habitat is finished soon.

The first room of the zoo contains lots of lizards as well as turtles and frogs and the crocodiles. Many of the animals in this room are in touch tanks, where the enclosure is either fully open at the top or has a sliding glass door you’re encouraged to open (in the case of the river turtles) to touch them. We were briefed by staff not to touch the heads of animals or pick them up, to be gentle, and to be aware they can bite. We used sanitiser before going in but I can’t remember if that was mandatory. The lizards with open air enclosures were desert species (I think shinglebacks) so maintaining humidity wasn’t an issue for them. The turtles were very curious but looked like they wanted fingers for lunch so I did very little petting there. It was a cool thing to be able to do. I don’t know if it would work in a bigger zoo with higher foot traffic but it seems to work here.

There was a darker corridor with enclosures lit in red. Lots of geckos in there! Then the snake room, which was my favourite. None of the snakes could be touched. There are 4 huge fibreglass snake sculptures around the room you could pose with for pictures though! Some really beautiful snakes. The only species I was hoping to see and didn’t was a woma as my friend has one and I wanted a picture for them but they had just about every other snake on the continent and then some! I wasn’t expecting any international snakes but there were a couple.

The mice were my favourite part, in an outdoor corridor. They were just so cute all snuggled in a log!

My mate and I had a spectacular time here. It was the highlight of our trip to Canberra :) we appreciated all the Komodo dragon sculptures making up for the lack of any actual Komodo.

All the animals looked happy in their enclosures, the husbandry was superb. They were in...

Alright, i’ll admit it. I’m definitely not a fan of snakes, at all. The thought of them puts me instantly into flight or fight mode and 99% of the time i’m in EXTREME flight mode. It was with gritted teeth initially that I bought my kids here, preparing myself for the horrors that lay inside and … while snakes and I still aren’t the best of friends, I was actually surprised to find that I enjoyed myself and learnt a lot. It is an extremely educational place with the most hands on, friendly staff. Walking around and seeing the animals, which of course aren’t just snakes but a varied variety of reptiles and amphibians, you learn to appreciate them for what they are. I must admit I have a bigger appreciation for them and certainly learnt some interesting facts in a safe environment. Definitely underlining that word ā€˜safe’ environment. The kids parties here are a must and you will hear squeals of joy and admire their wide and inquisitive eyes as they learn fun facts about reptiles and about how to be responsible around them. There are lots of hands on experiences as well which my kids loved. So I faced my fears and survived, did it have something to do with the cages and glass in between us, maybe (although there are snakes out and about with staff) .. but at least Ive made an effort on my part to learn as much as I can about them and learn to try accept them for what they are and I think...

We had our son's birthday here today and I have to say we were most impressed as were all guests. Professional service, friendly, not over priced, Peter did our show the children got to experience a variety of animals and learnt a lot! they then went onto a tour of the zoo and they also got to play, eat, etc. All the children were happy and I take my hat off to the team for how they all dealt with the kids and the families! We were allowed to use their oven to warm up some of our food and they were helpful and absolutely lovely. Cannot recommend enough thank you so much for today, my son is one happy boy! oh. I also have to mention that prior to today's show he always refused to go near any reptiles and thanks to Peter, he touched a reptile for the first time ever today, he even held the snake! 😯 he felt safe and comfortable to get out of his comfort zone - this was a huge achievement! ā¤ļø Well well done!
