HUNGRY BIRD CAFE - Nicholls, Canberra — Restaurant in District of Gungahlin

So this review is for owner specifically you really need to work hard on your staff, first day of year and they made it hell. With my one year old and family went their for lunch, ask the staff very respectfully if they clean the table, his reply we are too busy when we will be free he will come, so far after this response he cleans the table and informed us that order will take 45 minutes to prepare and coffee 20 minutes to prepare if you want to order, we said no issues,, approached him over the counter to order again he repeat same thing it will take that much time you want to order, we again said no issues please. Asked him for water didn’t reply just sign his hand to the direction very unprofessional. Very rude and unprofessional staff , no customer services manners at all, i myself working in customer services knows very well how we have to behave but today their behaviour was very nonsense. Please teach them some manners and some skills classes for customers services, we are paying there to eat so they not giving us any free food we can’t take this very stupid...

I was expecting to have a good experience here but was quite disappointed. The Cafe was not as clean as I would have expected and food took a while to come out which was surprising because they didn't seem very busy. The food was ok, not impressive at all in presentation and seemed to lack flavours, seasoning and garnishes. The worst part was it looked like they hadn't cleaned or wiped over things like the salt and pepper shakers and the bottle of water we got for a table had a ring of mould around the silicone stopper. I don't understand how this wasn't seen and remedied when they wash and refill them!? If thats the standard for the floor, I would hate to imagine the kitchen. Sadly, we won't...

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this café. I arrived at 3:45 PM, well before their stated closing time of 4:00 PM (according to their website and Google), hoping to grab a couple of bottles of water. I even asked the staff member if they were still open, and he responded in a rude and dismissive manner. It was clear they had already decided to close early, which is incredibly unprofessional and frustrating, especially when their posted hours clearly say they close at 4:00.
