Loved this playground, it's brand new with heaps of different areas for different age groups and abilities. There's lots of low clinging obstacles like ropes courses and pillars with cut out foot and hand holds. There low slides for littlies and medium slides, all the way up to teens/adults!
The playground is banksia themed with three banksia areas, one orange banksia that you can climb and walk through - a red banksia section with three flower platforms for younger climbers with ropes, platforms and medium slides - and the biggest, yellow banksia section with three really big flowers that you need to climb up high and through roped platforms inside the banksia flowers to get to the really high slides.
There's also the usual playground equipment like swings and flying fox. I like that one of the the flying fox ropes has a big seat that an adult or two children could use.
A lot of the area is under a shade net with plastic circles, some solid and some opaque so the cast colourful shadows across the ground. It provided some nice dappled shade while we were there in the afternoon.
There's parallel parking all around the park and also on the streets surrounding the park. The parking on the surrounding streets where we parked was ticketed on weekdays but free all weekend.
We didn't need to use the toilet facilities, but there didn't seem to be many around, if the park were to get busier there would definitely be a wait to get in.
There were quite a few new bbq pits around the place and with tables too.
There's a walking path that goes all around the playground making pram and wheelchair access really easy.
Great new park, would recommend it! There's nothing else in the CBD...
Read moreThere is lack of seating area and covered area. This park is poorly designed or built In a hurry!! Perfect place for a playground unfortunately the playground itself has many parts that have not been very well thought out. Great climbing area for the kids however the climbing walls can only be climbed halfway up as there are no further foot holes or hand pegs/rope for the kids to be able to hold onto. The climbing rope a nets are a great idea however the spacing between the netting is too wide and children are Falling out or getting stuck. There are two main slides which are very steep and made of metal extremely hot and causes continuous friction burning not good for children. the access to these slides the kid's need to climb up through this tunnel like climbing frame which is set to high and the children can't get up to the next level on their own which causes a build up of stuck children and panic in the little ones and no way of parents being able to get up there to get the children out. Older kids are having two help the younger kids climb up to be able to reach the top or climb down to get out. Very...
Read moreReally nicely designed park with an incredible variety of play equipment — it feels like a mini adventure world tucked right into the city. If you have kids, it’s absolutely worth a visit. There's so much to keep them entertained for hours, from climbing structures to creative water features and imaginative play areas.
But honestly, even as an adult, this place is impressive. The design is thoughtful, inclusive, and visually appealing — a lot of effort clearly went into making it fun and accessible for all ages. I ended up trying out the big slide when the crowd had thinned out a bit, and it was more thrilling than I expected — even slightly scary! Climbing up to it isn’t exactly easy either, so there’s a bit of a challenge for grown-ups who want to get in on the fun.
It’s also a great space just to relax, with lots of open green areas, shaded seating, and a nice layout that balances activity and chill-out zones. Whether you're here for a family day out, a quiet walk, or just to relive your inner child for a moment, Moort-ak...
