Hillarys Boat Harbour is one of those places you can keep coming back to and always find something new. There’s a really solid mix of shops, including beachwear stores, souvenirs, boutiques, and a few bigger names. It’s clean, spacious, and easy to walk around, even when it’s busy. The boardwalk is great for a casual stroll, and the whole area has a relaxed, coastal vibe that’s hard to beat. There are heaps of food options too. Whether you're after fish and chips, something a bit fancy, or just a sweet treat, you’ll find plenty to choose from. It’s a good spot for families, couples, or anyone who just wants a chill afternoon by the water. You can easily spend a couple of hours here without feeling rushed. The harbour and its beach inlet are generally quite nice and the night life is surprisingly vibrant. Events seem to be regularly hosted such as a cool animal light show as part of a local festival!
If you’re looking for a no-waves beach destination that is child friendly - this is a good choice. Better beaches can be found walking distance south such as Sorrento beach if you’re not looking for food/drinks.
If you intend to launch your boat at this ramp - boat trailer parking is only reserved until 12pm and by 5pm it is impossible to find a parking spot. Launch and retrieval procedures are posted and easy to follow. Freshwater wash stations are provided after retrieval near the dive shop 100m...

I cycled around, my friend did the hop on & hop off bus so we had different experiences to exchange at the end of our day.Lights came on and more people coming to have dinner in the restaurants. Choo choo train and ride ons for the young and young at heart . This was a Saturday night so probably the busiest day to be there. But everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. On leaving stopped at Rolls vs Bowls. A Vietnamese food shop. The harbour and its beach inlet are generally quite nice and the night life is surprisingly vibrant.
