Extremely Disappointed – False Advertising & Unexplained Shortcuts!
My wife and I recently booked the "Jervis Bay Passage" cruise with Jervis Bay Wild & Dolphin Watch Cruises, expecting a scenic and enjoyable tour covering all the advertised highlights. However, what we experienced was a huge disappointment.
The cruise itinerary, as advertised in their brochure, included several key attractions, including Point Perpendicular, The Tubes, The Pancake Stack, The Docks, Boat Harbour, Silica Cove, and Honeymoon Bay. These were the main reasons we booked this tour, as we were especially excited to see Honeymoon Bay after coming across stunning aerial photos.
Instead, after briefly cruising along the west and south beaches, the captain took us to Bowen Island and then cut the trip short, heading straight back to the start point—completely skipping multiple iconic locations. Shockingly, there was no announcement or explanation given at the time. We only found out when we realized the tour was ending far earlier than expected.
Feeling misled, we wrote a complaint to the company, only to receive a generic response claiming that the captain cut the tour short due to strong winds for safety reasons. This excuse is absolutely unacceptable. My wife and I spent the entire cruise sunbathing at the front deck—an open, uncovered area—without experiencing anything close to extreme wind. If the wind had been severe, we would have sought shelter, but there was no reason to. The weather was beautiful, with only a mild to moderate breeze.
Even if conditions had changed unexpectedly, the captain had a responsibility to inform passengers that parts of the tour were being skipped due to safety concerns. No such announcement was made. Instead, we were left confused as to why the cruise was ending early.
We asked for compensation, as we did not receive what we paid for, but our request was completely ignored. This is terrible customer service and shows a total lack of accountability.
If you're considering booking with this company, be aware that they may cut corners on the tour without any legitimate reason or warning. You may not get what you paid for, and if you complain, expect to be ignored.
We will not be booking with Jervis Bay Wild & Dolphin Watch Cruises again, and we strongly advise others to look elsewhere for a more professional and honest...

My family and I recently booked a whale watching tour. We were extremely disappointed and below are the reasons why.
First off, the ship used was not what we were expecting. We’ve been to other whale watching cruises before and when we saw the air inflated boat we’re boarding on, I knew it was going to be a disaster. Nowhere was it mentioned that a small-sized boat will be used when making a booking! On you whale cruise page, it says Port Venture will be used. If I had known, I wouldn’t have booked this tour.
Richard, the operator, was extremely rude. As soon as we got in, he made snarky comments about it being a whale watching tour and not a picnic. He basically threatened us that food crumbs nor drinks should fall on the boat. Also told us that there is no toilet on board and that most likely only kids can use it! We were absolutely humiliated as we were traveling with 2 elderly and 2 young kids. He was clearly speaking to us at that point. Do note that in your email, food and snacks can be brought and on your website, toilets are available for use!
The tour itself was unsatisfactory. There was no introduction, explanation or anything. We rode through very rough waves and a few people saw 1 small whale. A few of us didn’t as we were sitting on the back left side and the whale was only seen on the right side. I know it is out of your control but if there are no whales early in the morning, why are you making it available for people to book? My daughter and aunt has been traumatised by this experience!
We saw the 10:30am tour leave and I’m sure they all had a great time. I heard the captain welcome them on the tour and provide explanation on what the area is. Now THAT, was a $75 tour. Ours wasn't. We paid $403 for a...
Read moreJervis bay wild is a voyage in Ocean in search of Whales and Dolphins. We go in a Ship to do this. The Ship is of a three tier formation. The lower one where we enter is totally closed with port hole windows for viewing the out side scenes. The Port hole windows are made of hard glass water resistant. Those who want to see the scenes in a controlled and peaceful atmosphere prefer this tier. The Ship is provided with an electronic control panel to view the parameters of the voyage of the ship sailing, like speed, temperature,Depth of travel etc.,Those a bit adventurous prefer to go up to the middle tier where the view is better but roughness of the Ocean is felt more. The rolling and pitching of the Ship is thrilling but new comers feel scary too. Those who are the lucky early birds prefer the front position which gives good view of the Ocean as well of Whales and Dolphins. Those Of more enthusiasm go to the top tier where the view is still better. On our voyage we saw more than a dozen Whales Of sizes which come out for breathing. We saw few Dolphins too and children liked them to see from close range. The voyage for the return trip is in a different route so that we can enjoy the scenes and beauty of the Ocean and hills on either coast. More over the driver prefers a route in which the direct collision with the Whales is avoidedThe Voyage is very thrilling and enjoyable. You feel like you came out of an adventure. The Jervis beach is also unique in nature. You can find white sand here. The view of the Ocean with multi colours from beach to the horizon is splendid and breath taking! You can find white sand, wet sand,Light blue, deep blue colours here. The view of near by hills is also very good.People of all ages can enjoy the trip and feel like coming again.Really a...
