We found ourselves at 5 Little Pigs in Huskisson for brekkie, drawn in by the crowd gathered out front and the smell of good coffee wafting down the street. It’s got that classic coastal café charm — a little bit rustic, a little bit cool, and full of locals and visitors who clearly know this is the spot to start the day.
🍳 First up was the mushroom omelette — fluffy and folded with buttery sautéed mushrooms, dill, and parmesan. The dill added this unexpected freshness that cut through the richness in the best way. Super simple but so well done. Comforting without being heavy.
🦀 The spanner crab toast was definitely the standout — fresh, delicate crab piled onto thick-cut sourdough with all the right creamy, citrusy notes. It was light, a little fancy, and something you don’t see everywhere. One of those dishes that makes you slow down and savour every bite.
🍌 We couldn’t resist finishing with a slice of banana bread, toasted and perfectly caramelised on the outside, soft and cakey inside. The kind you keep picking at even when you’re full.
☕️ Coffee was smooth and strong, just how we like it — and the staff were friendly without being over the top, keeping things moving even with the morning rush.
5 Little Pigs is one of those breakfast spots that feels effortless but delivers big. Thoughtful food, great coffee, and just the right amount of local personality. We’ll be back next time...

As of Wednesday 30 April 2025. The customer service, quality of food, atmosphere or desire to have an enjoyable experience is no longer existent.
To start with customer service, as I entered the face on the young girl was a blank stare with no emotion and her tone of voice was as if I was an inconvenience to her. I was greeted with an ‘are you good?’. I replied, “can I have a table for 2?”, a blunt ‘find a seat and sit down’ was her response. We sat down and ordered. Egg and bacon roll on turkish, soggy bread, decent amount of bacon and egg. Scrambled eggs on sourdough, sourdough was wet and soggy as though a cup of water was soaked into it. Waitress forgot the hash brown I ordered, fair enough errors occur but the excuse from her, that she did not hear our order even though the order was read back perfectly was not required.
My partner and I would regularly eat brunch here, the food and customer service is what would bring us back, week after week. This experience is a downfall and business from us will be taken elsewhere.
Overall bad experience, better cafes in the local area. This is coming from a local, not a tourist...

I found the staff generally unfriendly. We were welcomed to a high table and when we asked for the Wi-Fi, the waiter just said “no”.. very ubrupt….
When we asked to move from inside to outside, so we had some phone reception Another young waitress said to us “I have to ask”… She then returned to say “it’s your lucky day”…
Actually Miss, I have to say, it’s actually your lucky day that I just paid fourteen dollars for an extra bloody sausage and has brown To be treated like crap 😂
A note to management: have a read of all of these reviews…. there is a lot of people unhappy with your staff and their behaviour. You wouldn’t want to keep going down this road, especially if another cafe opens up where they treat their patrons properly, in such a small town that relies so heavily on tourist.
Very expensive food, and I would not want to come here on a public holiday as the menu says it’s a 20% surcharge….
Sadly: the food is good and coffee was actually...
