The location is perfect for every type of people, character, age and culture. The ambiance is lively, cheerful and fun. The range of food is spot on with the variety of choices and caters to whatever your diet is. The menu has been carefully thought of and the plating itself tells you that you have made the right choice even before tasting your food. Place offers a lot of seating and safe for both kids and elderlies. Live music is a bonus for those who just wants to shake off and unwind. They always have a lot of customers and the queue at times reaches as far as the entrance but their strategy in taking orders and releasing food works well that the line moves quickly. Food, however, takes a minimum of 30mins but it is worth the wait. Staff are generally friendly and courteous every time we come in except for this one lady who took my order last Saturday March 1st around 6pm on the 1st cashier right beside the food releasing counter, was just unsmiling and rolling her eyes at me when she was taking my order. When I asked her if she was ok and she looked as if she hates her job immensely, she said her face is just normally like that. I am still giving a 5* rating inspite of this because of all the good things that this pub offers outweighs that one particular negative and I will still recommend this place.

It's come a long way from the dated pub on the hill in the 90's, though I love that the sports bar still had that old pub vibe, and the pool table was fun. I recently spent a couple days in Husky and tried a few of the meals. The food quality had some hits and some misses. Ribs were great, but very small for a $39 price tag, the slaw wasn't great, kids meals great portions. Delicious chips. The calamari was a little chewy and stringy, but was excellent in the Pavilion. The pub food was probably more 2-3 stars.. But the staff were great, the location and view excellent. The food in the Pavilion was actually significantly better and worth the slightly higher price tag! The steak was well rested and tasted amazing, octopus was fantastic. Grilled prawns were tasty. I would have liked to have tried one of their cocktails, but they stopped serving those at 8.30pm on a Friday night, so we missed out. A little warning of this, on the menu or by the staff, would have been great, as we were looking forward to try one after dinner. But overall I enjoyed the experience and would happily go back.

I haven’t stayed at this hotel, but I did go with my family to the pub part of the hotel. For $84 we got 2 burgers that came with chips, a bowl of chips, mash and gravy, and 2 milkshakes. The food is amazing, very filling and you’re able to take your leftovers home without paying for the takeaway containers (some places charge you believe it or not). The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Quick service and an area that has all the extra cutlery, salt shakers, sauce for you to grab as much as you need, extra plates and napkins. There’s many tables, so even if there’s a lot of people eating here, there’s enough tables to spread everyone out. I didn’t try the pizza, but they have a proper wood fire oven for the pizza which is awesome. Another thing that’s great is you have the ocean as your backdrop. You can sit outside (under cover) or inside. It’s very lovely, definitely would come here again.

Well, we popped in to have a bite to eat for dinner after a whale cruise, so it was early say 5:30 ish on a Sat night of the long weekend. A member of our small group of 4 had attempted to make a booking earlier in the day, but wasn't able to. This was odd, as when we arrived I noted a large number of tables with reserved signs on them, sitting empty. After finally securing a table, we ordered our dinner, we were told there was to be an 'up to an hour wait for food'. No worries, we knew it was busy, and a long weekend. We ordered food from the bistro and pizza. We were told that the food comes out separately from these two areas. Also understand that. However, we waited just over an hour for our dinner, which was not really an acceptable temperature, for something I thought would be hot off the press. The $48 smoke house meal was also disappointing. 2 chicken quarters and 3 slices of brisket, with a woeful small amount of coleslaw and 2 stale tasting sliders, with some fries was a tad pricey. My 8yr son had ordered the pizza, which still hadn't been buzzed by 1.5hrs later. By the time I was able to follow up with the bistro, who then sent me to the pizza bar 2 hours had passed. The gentleman there searched for our docket, I could see the numbers were already in the next bracket. It was obvious the order had been lost. Sadly no real amends, aside from 'what was your order' it was written down. I waited another 20mins at least and still no pizza. I asked for a refund...which received easily, amd finally an apology. I get it, it's busy....but to wait 2.5hrs and still no pizza was disappointing. I'm not sure I would be in a...

The security guards are obviously bored, and on some sort of power trip!

Four of us went to go for a drink here last Friday night after having dinner at a nearby restaurant for my Mother-in-laws 70th birthday, while our designated driver dropped the other half of the family home. It was 10:13pm & we were refused entry, apparently they have made up lockout rule of 10pm. As we were walking away, someone opened a door to leave & we did the naughty thing & snuck in.

We casually had one drink, then my partner went to the bathroom, as he came out of the toilet he was met by three security guides waiting for him to escorted him off the premises. While they did this, they were saying provocative things, such as “I at least expected him to burr up a little bit” etc.

My brother-in-law & I were almost finished our second drinks when three security guards came and told us and my mother-in-law we had to leave. We put down our drinks and walked out without saying a word. One of the security guards filmed us as we walked out.

My Mother-in-law who does not even drink, certainly didn’t expect to get kicked out of a pub on her 70th birthday 😂

Anyway, we won’t be back! Yes we did the wrong thing and snuck in, but we should be able to go a pub to have a drink after dinner at 10:13 on a Friday night. the security guards were provocative & why were they filming us? If you don’t want people sneaking in the front door, maybe put a security guard out the front, because we weren’t the only ones to go in that door.

Thankfully there are plenty of other good venues in the area to take...

Consistently Great Dining at The Huskisson Hotel

We’ve been regular visitors to The Huskisson Hotel, and each time, the meals have been reliably enjoyable. In fact, last week, we loved it so much that we ate there three times! The oysters and bucket of prawns are always incredibly fresh, making them a standout choice on every visit. We’ve also tried their pizzas, which are flavourful, the fish carpaccio and the meat smoker ; particularly the ribs which are absolutely delicious.

In addition to these more straightforward options, they offer a selection of more refined dishes like delicate fish carpaccio, mussels in wine, and tender lamb shoulder. The variety of seafood is impressive, consistently fresh and well-prepared. The menu caters to a wide range of tastes, offering everything from seafood and meats to salads, pasta, and smoked meats—there’s something for everyone.

The food is simple yet expertly executed, well-prepared, satisfying, and free from any unpleasant surprises. The atmosphere adds to the experience, with a lively, upbeat vibe and a breathtaking view from the deck. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed yet enjoyable meal, and the friendly staff contribute to the welcoming ambiance.

All in all, The Huskisson Hotel provides a dependable, high-quality dining experience with a diverse menu that caters to a range of tastes, all set against a beautiful backdrop. We can’t recommend it enough ; it’s a place we always look forward to...
