From the moment I stepped into Kings Park, I knew I was in for a treat. This sprawling urban park, a jewel in Perth's crown, isn't just a green space; it's a vibrant tapestry of history, nature, and panoramic views. The botanical gardens are a horticulturist's dream, boasting a rich collection of native plants. Walking through these gardens feels like a journey through Western Australia's diverse flora. The highlight for me was the spectacular spring wildflower display, a riot of colours and scents that left me in awe. For history enthusiasts, the State War Memorial is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by Australians in various conflicts. The solemnity of this place, coupled with the breathtaking view of the Swan River and Perth skyline, makes for a reflective experience. Families and fitness buffs alike will love the abundance of walking trails and picnic spots. Whether it's a leisurely stroll along the Lotterywest Federation Walkway with its stunning glass bridge or a more challenging hike on one of the park's many bushland trails, there's something for everyone. But what truly sets Kings Park apart is its tranquil atmosphere amidst the bustling city. It's a place where you can escape the urban grind and immerse yourself in nature's embrace. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Kings Park is a must-visit destination in Perth. It's not just a park; it's a sanctuary where nature, culture, and history converge to create an unforgettable experience.

Kings Park in Perth is an absolute gem, offering a variety of attractions and conveniences that make it a must-visit destination. Getting here is a breeze, thanks to the free Transperth bus services, which make it accessible without any hassle. If you prefer to walk, it's easily reachable on foot, either from the main roadways or via the delightful walking tracks. One of the highlights is the *Kokoda Track Memorial Step and Walk*, which seamlessly connects to the CBD through John Oldham Park. The views from Kings Park are nothing short of spectacular. From its elevated position, you get to enjoy sweeping vistas of the stunning Swan River, which provide a perfect backdrop for both relaxation and photography. There are plenty of amenities on-site to ensure a comfortable visit. You'll find various eating establishments, a well-appointed information center, cozy coffee shops, and clean, well-maintained restrooms. Additionally, the park offers access to the wonderfully landscaped Roe Garden. While exploring, you can marvel at the dramatic *Giant Boab*, take a reflective moment at the *Pioneer Women Memorial*, and enjoy a leisurely stroll along the *Lotterywest Federation Walkway*. Kings Park has something for everyone, whether you're looking to relax, explore, or simply take in the natural beauty of Perth.

Came here on a hot summer day and while we nearly melted to death we really enjoyed the gardens / park. This is such a cool place I could see how people spend every weekend here the views are amazing, the gardens are spectacular / beautiful and the amount that there is to do is unbelievable. We only spent a few hours here due to the hot weather but we would come back for sure. The blue cat (free) drops you off right at the entry which is so convenient. There is no entry fee to the gardens either which is really great. There are a few walks you can do which are outlined on the information sign. We took the 1hr walk and it was about 1.5hrs after all our stopping & looking. Lots of Aussies were there for a jog and for food at the cafe (forgot to take pics). I would highly recommend to come back for a full morning of walking and eating at the cafe which looked to have a really nice selection of food. Note: if visiting Perth for the first time do note that they have free city bus transportation called CAT that will take you to all the sights for free! So convenient and did I say free! There are blue, yellow, red and purple line (if I remember correctly). You can download the CAT app too to check bus arrival timings but most of the buses were white frequent, we never waited more than 5-7min.
