We dined here for breakfast with friends and children as it’s close to the park and location is fantastic. Service however is poor. Be sure to come prepared for the price, it soon adds up. I ordered a dish with scrambled egg and the amount of egg was almost as proportional to the scattered feta, I raised this and it caused more hassle than good. I was sent a portion of egg to which we were of course grateful but it felt like we had hugely inconvenienced them. We also asked for a tiny bit more milk to accompany my English breakfast tea to which I was told it would be 30 cents and I would need to queue and go back to the counter. Given I was watching my daughter in her highchair I said I couldn’t leave her to go back up again. Overall, for 1 meal, a tea, a baby cino and banana bread it came to over $45… My friend ordered scrambled egg on toast and a side of bacon, no toast came and she was told she didn’t ask for it. Again painful to try and raise with the staff. Overall the venue has excellent potential given its location. An improvement with customer service would do the...
Read moreDISPOSABLE TAKE AWAY ONLY. Dear owners, I have been using my keep cup for years. I actually have two so I always have one on me. If I don’t have it on me I order a sit down coffee or go without. I appreciate your messages and have read the article. My comment is that while it is fair enough for you to live by that rule, why deny me the option to use my cup? You can find an article to ‘prove’ anything on the internet but the basic philosophy of don’t use disposable items is surely a good one? I won’t dine in as I am watching my kids on the playground, so now I need to buy my coffee elsewhere and then come to Ivy Watson which is a massive pain and if we are talking carbon foot print concerns- surely greater!? But I just can’t support the plastic and waste of a disposable cup. Anyway, I have mentioned to the staff how much I wish I could get one of your delicious coffees in my cup but their response was the boss said absolutely not. I’m just asking for the option, not for you to change your thinking. Thank you...
Read moreAbsolutely let down. Came here for a family lunch on Labour Day, it’s supposed to be a family venue, but food arrived at different times. I remember the times when you didn’t have to add to the order that you want to have the food served at the same time for the whole table. My husband has finished his dish and my son was still waiting for his fish and chips. Adults food arrived warm, where kids meals came piping hot. My burger was so overdone it was burned at the bottom, with cheese totally melted of it and burned to uneatable black crisp, yet someone thought it was absolutely fine to serve it to the client because it was still partially yellow on top. The only decent part was my husband’s steak sandwich. All that with moderately busy restaurant, with 30% of tables empty and ample amount of staff. Place looks great but lacks proper organisation. In overall restaurant family experience it’s a big...
