South Kingscliff Beach — Attraction in Kingscliff

This beach is the northern end of Cabarita Beach which has been ranked as the best overall beach in Australia, taking into account sand, surf, swimming etc. The northern end can sometimes get a bit rough in the surf so keep to the surf life saving flags then. However, it is absolutely magnificent and superlative for a beach walk. There is a bush reserve between the beach and houses, so you feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere, especially in off season. There is a shared bike and walking path on the west side of the reserve which connects (with a few short back road sections) south to Pottsville and north to Tweed Heads. There is a short section at the northern most end of the beach that allows dogs off leash to share the beach, however they must be under control. Not too many dogs, nice long stretch of beach and plenty of shaded car parks, no shade along the beach though. Dogs don't have to be leashed from the car to the beach as access is immediate which is perfect for my lead reactive girl. Shame that the surf is a bit too rough for my two dogs.
