This is a place that both adults and children love. During the high tide in the morning, a large number of fish swim over. The site provides plenty of bread for feeding the fish. You can personally hold the bread and feed the fish, feeling the gentle touch of the fish nibbling the bread from your hand and the smoothness of their bodies brushing against your hand as they squeeze together. When different types of fish arrive, staff will announce over the speakers the name of the fish, their characteristics, and the correct feeding method. Larger fish don't come too close to the shore, so you can throw entire pieces of bread into the center of the school of fish and watch them compete for the food, sometimes even jumping out of the water. If you get tired of feeding the fish, you can visit the café here to enjoy a delicious bagel sandwich, and the coffee is also great. There’s also a playground with slides and climbing structures that children love. It's recommended to book a feeding session on the website in advance, as the high tide time varies each day, and so does the feeding schedule. My family enjoyed a wonderful morning here.

What a fun and unique experience in Darwin! We started our visit to this city with a trip to Aquascene and it was a lot of fun. Once you pay the entry fee, you’re given an unlimited amount of food to feed the fish. Granted, the food (bread) prob isn’t the healthiest, so that’s def something they could work on. There were multiple areas to feed the fish, including places where you could “toe feed,” which was def an experience in and of itself. We were initially nervous about crocodiles, but the staff assured us that this was not an issue at the site. The staff member who was working Tuesday was also amazing—she def made the experience special. She was very knowledgeable, helpful, and eager to teach the visitors about the different types of fish and the local environment. Overall, really unique experience and something that I’d recommend.

While this was a relaxing (albiet pricey) activity, I was shocked to discover that the food provided to feed the wild fish is stale bread. Bread is not part of a fish diet, it contains yeast and causes bloating and constipation. The staff were even feeding the resident duck bread which just shows they have no clue how to care for animals. It is terribly unhealthy for ducks and fish to the point councils put up signs in nature reserves to stop people feeding them bread for this reason. Please invest in some fish food pellets so the fish can receive proper nutrition. Each guest can be limited to a cup of pellets which can be reused for future feeding times. The sound system kept cutting out so the commentary could hardly be heard. I realise proper feeding is much more expensive than getting free stale bread donations from the local supermarkets. But at $15 entry I think it can be afforded for the welfare of the animals you have trained to visit you. Positive change is easy to make, lead by example.

Much more than I expected. For the reasonably priced admission fee we could feed the fish which were at times huge. Many were happy to swim around our feet as they gummed our soft bread provided by the company. A knowledgeable guide spoke into a microphone telling us all about the types of fish and answering people's questions. He didn't get in our way just happy to help as much as possible. Once we had fed the fish as much as we liked we could look around their gardens and learn about the Chinese history of the area through their collection of statues and informative posters. Also they had a pet cockatoo who was very friendly and loved pats. As well as local seabirds and another fish pond which had some crabs and other types of fish to see. Well worth the visit! Would definitely recommend!

The place opened promptly at 8am… Gina was the guide for the morning and she had all the boxes of bread ready to do. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and made sure everyone who turned up at different times of the morning were given the same attention and information. The place is amazing. It’s a little rustic but it’s all natural and the fish come straight from the ocean… There is a huge respect for the flora and fauna and Gina also gives you a brief history of the place. It’s been there since 1965! Entry fee was only $15 for a single adult with packages for families and you can stay for as long as feeding time lasts which is aboit2-2.5 hours. They are closed on days that the tide is too low so check online before going. I highly recommend!

The person at the ticket counter was very rude towards a lady today. She ordered a drink and, while waiting for it, was looking to the waterfront. In front of all of us, this rude guy came and very disrespectfully shouted at her that you were not allowed here. The woman was in a shock and said sorry I misunderstood and thought you needed to pay only when you fed the fishes. Still, he remained rude. No apologies or anything. Then, on her way back with her drinks when in a calm voice she told him that it was very disrespectful to speak in this manner, a person might have a misunderstanding, but the ticket counter guy continued to use disrespectful words. I find him extremely disrespectful and racist and will never visit this place again.
