I was a long-term (about one month) guest stayed in room #711 at the H on Smith Hotel. I'm writing in regarding to make a complain about the unpleasant experiences at H hotel. For my arrival. I was already exhausted for the travel when did the check-in at nearly midnight, and the there was a bag full of used toiletries (I assumed it is from a former guest) in the room #612 previously. More than that, there was so many dust and stains that I couldn’t stand, especially for those on the bed. Obviously the room was vacant for a long time . After I contacted the reception, I got upgraded to the king room#711. Thanks to the nice and patient receptionist Allen’s help on that night. I didn’t plan to write this at all if no more drama happened, but what happened in the following days very disappointed me. 1. I lost property. It's a pair of Hello Kitty pink shorts from a person who is very special to me, the shorts companied me for ever 8 years with lots of invaluable memories. It was missing after housekeepers did the linen change on 6th Jun. The reception team promised me to find out what was going on, but until now I haven’t received any feedback or any solution to this issue. I understand the shorts is not a million dollar jewel, but to me it’s more than that, and I feel painful. 2. Shocked room service. The sheets and towels weren’t got changed when they were apparently needed to be refreshed, and the housekeepers always easily forgot to empty the bin or left their tools (like chemical bottles) in the room. Those happened to me so many times that I had to kindly remind the staff of that. I worked for a motel as a housekeeper before, so I totally understand it is not an easy job, but it is also shocked to know that the standard here is lower than a motel. 3. Unbelievable laundry service. The housekeeper knocked into my room and threw the full laundry bag onto the bed while I was still sleeping in the room. I couldn’t believe this happened to me twice!! Let alone this woke me up straight away in an extremely unpleasant way, it was also very rude!! 4. Confusing in-house dining menu. The room service menu on website is an old one from couple months ago which really confused me, and the menu in room is uneasily to find and made roughly. Thank God the food is still fine and the restaurant supervisor Scott, he was always patient and helped me nicely. 5. Inconvenient internet. The WiFi is very slow and unstable at this hotel, I could barely open any website in almost every evening, not mentioned if I wanna watch a Youtube. It is time to upgrade it! From my experience, there must be some misunderstanding about what is a 4.5-star hotel. It will definitely be the last hotel I will book next time especially you get charged for $200 per night.

Stayed here for total of 7 days and location is fantastic. Close to centre of Darwin, Mall, shops, restaurants, cafes, waterfront and more. The hotel itself was comfortable with restaurant, 24 hour front desk/ reception, swimming pool, bar and more. Pool was clean and seemed well maintained. Staff were pleasant and accommodating, however were sometimes a little short or off putting, but not rude. Reason for my rating being as it is, is the negative was that due to the cleaning of the room. When I arrived the hotel room seemed OK but j noticed the shower and bathroom seemed to be a little dirty. I didn't say anything as I thought it will get cleaned in the morning anyway when they make my room up. Unfortunately even after mentioning it to reception desk one morning, it was never cleaned once during my stay, however the hotel bed was made up every day. Other small negative is there was never any bottles of water in my fridge, whether complimentary or to pay for. For a hotel in Darwin where temperatures can get high, I thought this to be a negative. Overall stay was pleasant

We had a wonderful stay at H on Smith from Friday to Monday with Eddie, the assistant Manger and his team catering to all of our requests. The rooms are spotless and serviced daily.. so wonderful to come back to a made bed and cleaned, stocked room after a big day out ! Thank you to the housekeeping team .. fantastic ! We had a king twin room on the ninth floor, which was spacious and gave us views of the sea. Check in was so easy, again with Eddie and his team, working professionally and quickly. Parking was behind the hotel and is directly joined to the hotel for very easy access. Located in the heart of Darwin, a short walk to Woolworths and a lovely ten min walk to the Waterfront. Thank you for having us Eddie and H on Smith.

my husband and i stayed here for the weekend as a little honeymoon. we wont be back again nor recommend it to anyone else. pros: good beds, clean room, spacious room, good fries, daily towel change. cons: room service menu is deceiving as it really is only subject to availability one of the times i ordered i was only given two options out of the entire menu. don't order room service after 9pm ish as it appears there isn't a chef around after hours even though they advertise room service until a late hour i made the mistake of ordering fries and cake the aioli was a runny yoghurt mixture and the chips were on a bed of salt i kid you not and the cake was semi frozen put together by what seemes like a child messing around in the kitchen. no slippers. no robes. no mini bar even though this too is advertised on their site. i had a blood nose and stained the sheet and pillow case the next day we went out and someone made my bed and left the same stained sheet and pillow case on the bed just made it but didn't bother to change it. breakfast buffet needs more options only serving breads and spreads tea coffee water juice fruits muffins cold meats and cheese. no cereals no cookes foods. and they take forever to top it up when its low. if you want cooked food its an extra $10-15 per meal. make sure you check what you're charged for at the end of your stay. ask for a print out and keep a personal record during your stay. we were charged an extra $100 something for foods and drinks we never purchased. if we didn't ask for a print out we wouldn't have known. then it took them almost 40 minutes to fix their mistakes and track down dockets and receipts. turns out then were charging the wrong room. they need a better system like maybe swipping a key card to charge things to a room instead of verbally as people can miss hear miss pronounce and even be fraudulent in using others room numbers. bad...

Edificio moderno, camere grandi e ben attrezzate. Scocciati e preoccupati torniamo in reception a chiedere notizie.
